Or is this super ugly? The square-cut muscularity of the 12C/650S was nice, but this just looks...bad. Too loopy and swoopy, and I despise those taillights with the fiery passion of a thousand suns. The front is okay, though.

I think that's really subjective. I like it! Although McLaren is going a bit over the top with the swoops I like it.
I, for example, really don't like the rear of current Porsches, Lamborghini Huracan and Audi R8. But this McLaren...

Yup you crazy but that's fine.
My only real problem are the exhausts. They blend in with the diffuser way too much.

I like it a lot more than the 650S! Seems a lot more toned down than the busy 650S.
