A truck carrying covered up Audis. I've never seen them covered up like like before. Not sure if that is the standard German way to protect a car in transit from the elements, or its a new model. Probably the former.

I thought that it was just a standard way to protect them from the elements in general, not just for Audis.

Corvette does this as well, regardless of the weather. When you have picky customers forking over that much, you can afford to protect their investment during transit.

I've seen this, I think it's standard Audi practice for new vehicles.

A lot of higher end companies are covering their cars recently. They've realised it's cheaper to cover them up, than it is to make the dealership spend extra time cleaning them/fixing scratches from transit.

Audi has been doing this for years—It's just to protect the cars until they are delivered.

Pretty standard for most luxury makers

I remember reading somewhere that the US Army used to have the same practice when they shipped army-spec Jeeps across the Atlantic to the European theatre of war - it was to protect them against salt corrosion. The guideline was "Don't be silly, wrap your Willys".

I've seen other cars wrapped up, but not by this much.

The bottom corvette is what I usually see, partial cover up.

First time I've seen it then like this, usually it's just a partial cover.

One of my friends worked as a conductor for a rail shipping company these Autotraks have holes in the sides and when they get spray painted the paint goes on the cars. More and more companies he said are coming with a wrap on them.

Yeah, I've seen Audis in particular be all wrapped up like this while in transit.
