If you had 80 grand to buy one car. One. Not a few used beaters, one car. What would it be?

Hellcat with a manual, if it's just for a car and I can't keep what's left over. If I can do that, the 2016 Tacoma TRD double cab when it comes out, also with a manual, and save the rest for fuel, taxes, and insurance.

I thought about that truck, but went with the Mercedes E350 wagon instead. Because, one, I'd have no place to park said Escalade, and two, I'm assuming I'm still paying for gas/insurance on that sucker. I was hoping you could get the E Class with the diesel, but apparently not.

Argument is invalid because AC is rolling windows down and more skinny pedal. Radio is pointless because 7L LS7 and glorious exhaust. I also just like the looks of the Camaro more. Interestingly enough though my father has a friend who was going to get a Z06 but didn't fit because he was too tall, he picked up a Z28 instead.

My train of though was that the Escalade(or equivalent SUV) could handle 95% of anyones needs no matter what point in life they are in.
You can tow an RV or boat or racecar
If you need lumber just fold the seats down and throw it in the back.
If there is a snow storm just engage 4x4
There is room for a bunch of kids
It's comfortable for long trips and its luxurious.
The full size truck based SUV to me is the most practical vehicle to ever exist. You can pretty much do it all.

My first thought is a Z06 but the winters here are horrible and that would never work. So I think I would have to go with an AWD car. Perhaps a used AWD car. Hmmm I am not sure this is hard. Maybe an Audi RS7? This is of course assuming I DD if not that a whole new world of possibilities opens up.

Awesome, thanks! I remembered right after I asked you that I could just click on your username and see your posts that way. I've actually already read the three in your reply. Thanks, I'll see if I can come up with some good questions for you. Actually, I have one quick question for you. How's the headroom? I am 6'4 and am worried about fitting. Surprisingly, I fit in an Elise (in a showroom, haven't driven one) and an S2000 (owned), but I heard headroom was tight in the viper. I know the gts has a seat lowering kit available, but I'm not sure about newer ones. On a side note, I want an 04 Mamba or 05 CE.

The actual distance between my head and the roof on the stock viper seats is sufficient enough to fit a helmet on and be comfortable. It is a mental adjustment that you will not be able to look up and out like a normal car. You can see the road, but not the sky or stop lights when you are the first car. I work in tight confined spaces so it doesn't bother me but my lady friend gets claustrophobic sometimes.
trmoore09
> whatisthatsound
03/31/2015 at 00:22 | 1 |
Oh, ok. That makes sense. Several cars I've driven have been like that to where I mainly see roof to the front and the sides, but technically my head doesn't hit the roof. Makes it difficult to see a stop light if you get too close, but not too bad otherwise. The S2000 had that issue for me. Problem solved with the top down though!

I've learned if you wax the front end and keep it shiny then park at a slight angle you can see the reflection of the lights off the hood or the fenders. This worked really really well in the Elise, but the Viper is hit or miss. It does take awhile to get adjusted to staring down for the light rather than up.

does an m3 or m4 come in under 80k? any m car?
any p car thats not a base boxster or cayman?
what about an amg thats not a CLA?
i image all rs audis are ove 80k new?
perhaps a corvette, but i bet the models you can get for under 80k are models you wont want in 10 years.
f-type coupe with a v8?
thats where your 80k should go. anything else, your 80k will be 60 tomorrow and continue plummeting with no bottom.

This is like wishing for more wishes: defeats the point of having *three* wishes. Or calling every car a ripoff because you could go 20k cheaper and dump the rest into the engine. Besides, I bet the 911's price increase over the next 15 years will outpace your return.
