"Brian, The Life of" (familycar)

So my son came home from Cal for spring break last week. He brought his girlfriend home to meet us (so I know he must be pretty serious with this one). Really sweet, worldly and very beautiful yound lady. That's not the source of my jelly (come on, that'd be weird). Rather, they took a day trip up to LA to visit her parents and her dad let my son drive one of his cars.
The car? A black 599 GTO. That lucky shit!

Well, your son is set for retirement. You don't have to leave him anything now.
HFV has no HFV. But somehow has 2 motorcycles

It sounds like you ARE jelly of your son's GF, or at least her dad I mean who wouldn't want a father in law who owns a Ferrari or two. lol

Well, damn, the best I've gotten to drive due to women I've dated (she's now my wife actually), was a C5 convertible with an automatic trans (her dad gets a pass for it due to a bum knee, but holy crap that thing just sucks the fun out of the car). That said I was offered the chance to drive a 599 (regular one, not a GTO), but I really didn't know the guy and I just didn't feel comfortable taking a car THAT expensive out for a spin.
How'd he like driving it?

and I thought I was a baller with my college girlfriends dad letting me drive his brand new 1997 Z3 for a weekend. The baller bar is higher

He couldn't contain himself. The most uncool thing I've ever seen him do was gush about what a freaking blast it was at the dinner table after they got back.

I was just idly curious if Ferrari Dad had any quid pro quo available to him. Were he me, he'd have gotten a kick out of it.

Definitely is always funny when someone gets excited enough to act out of character.

Or totally appropriate, according to the creepy dads of some people I've dated, blecccch.
Glad the actual source of jelly was way cooler!

Bonus baller points if he drove it down the PCH.

On a side note if you've ever visited your son at Cal, are the tree people still up there making a mess of things?

The funniest part was her sitting next to him rolling her eyes.

LMAO awesome! Sounds like she'd respond in a similar way as the guy who offered to let me drive his 599 did when I declined "it's just a car" *sigh* Ah well, not everyone gets as enthusiastic about these things as we do I suppose.
