Two nineties automotive icons have met... in a high school parking lot.
I didn't look to see if it was manual or not, but there's now two 240sx hatches on the lot. One's totally stock and this one just needs a little love and paint and it'll look pretty damn good I think.
This would be an interesting game of "Which Would You Rather?"

This one I would rather.

Which would you rather get rid of first: the green wheels on the 240, or those headlights on the M3?

The headlights aren't that terrible dammit! I think green wheels are far worse.

They're pretty bad.

Headlights are pretty bad, sorry dude.

M3. It'd better be manual (although I know that's uncommon in the sedan).

Yeah, but they also work and were already on the car when I bought it. My funds have been totally depleted by way more important things than replacing headlights that don't even look that bad and work.

It's an automatic...
But it's a good automatic. So there's that.

I can accept that. And I should've remembered it was an auto. I remember when you did your full review on it. Nice ride for sure.

They're not terrible , but I'm not a fan. No offense. The projectors are ok-ish but the sidemarker part is weird with that thick black trim around the edge.
Here's the OEM USDM headlights , and the OEM Euro clear corner lights . Turner Motorsport also sells the Euro projector headlights but they're $365 for each side so probably not worth it.

That's my problem, stock ones are stupid expensive and I'm broke after doing the suspension and getting it streetable. Plus the projectors are probably brighter than stock. That trim is actually the seal for the lights. I'm thinking maybe if I painted the insides black it would look better.

I figure aftermarket projectors are usually of questionable light output, and even regular old OEM headlights on Euro cars were pretty solid starting in the 90s. If you're trying to conserve money I'd buy OEM ones from a junkyard and polish them up before putting them on the car.
I mean, they're not a huge priority. But that's what I'd do.

i will say that these style headlights really look a lot worse in pictures.

Sometimes I honestly think this true because in person they really aren't that bad, but they look a bit worse when I take a picture of them and don't edit it.

Is that dent on the hood above the headlight one that the asshole did?
![]() 03/30/2015 at 14:41 |

There's that one and then about four others that you can't see in the picture.

Just a conventional ZF 5-speed auto.
