I never thought I'd be so happy to see the finger back in action.

I'm not drinking the Kool Aid just yet but I am a fan of this guy and would like to see him win a championship with 2 different constructors.

Amazing what this win yesterday does for his credibility as an all-time great driver, and probably for his personal confidence. You could hear it in his voice and see it in his emotions. You wonder if, after the struggles he had last season, he thought he might never win a race again. As easy as they came for Vettel for those 4 years, and for Hamilton last year, the top of the podium is a special thing - you have to be at the top of your game, you have to be in the right car, and everything else must go right - no small feat.

I think he gets criticized unfairly. That seems to happen when someone wins a lot. It's interesting watch him because I think he drives as unaffected by emotion as anyone I remember including Kimi, who I also like. When he wins he enjoys it. The only time I think it was any different was 2 years ago in the "multi 21" race. But I also think he learned a lesson from that. Overnight he went from a driver who was enjoying himself to a self absorbed jerk, at least as far as the fans thought. There hasn't been a whiff of that since. I also love his comment about celebrating the win by getting a little ripped.

Easy to hate on the guy at the top, and the whole thing with Webber definitely gave fuel to those wanting to paint him as a prick. The thing that no one wants to admit is, to be the very best in the world at any sport, you have to believe that you're the best, and sometimes that shows through (with some more than others). I think the donuts at the end of 2013, and bowing down to the RB9 showed everyone his true self — absolutely loving where he'd found himself in life and feeling very fortunate about his situation. We saw some of that jubilant spirit yesterday.

He definitely appreciates his position. When he won it all in 2013 he told the team to take heart these things don't come along that often, an interesting comment considering 2014. But I also think you're right, he was honestly excited as hell yesterday. Got a win and got it for his dream team.

Sometimes, dreams do come true. And considering Ferrari's last few years' results, the whole team needed the boost of confidence as well. Going into this season, I was convinced that Hamilton was going to sneak ahead of Vettel in total wins. He still only needs 6 to match him at 40, and that still seems pretty doable this year, but it's exciting to think that Seb has a real chance of fending him off.
