Saturday had a load of cars coming over to Treasure Island in the SF Bay for Cars and Coffee. Lots of unique cars came, like this Spyker with generous amounts of bokeh.
I can't wait for the day Spyker will start making kits for their shifters for other rear engined cars.
The vinyl numbers somewhat signal this car is actually tracked, not just lying in a temperature controlled garage except for 3 hours during the month.
Why was it necessary for the extra two vents on the bottom? I can't seriously imagine those actually being functional...
This reminds me of Mel's and all their nostalgic stuff.
A Mercury Cougar. Too bad Ford reduced Mercury to a brand dedicated to senior citizens wanting a Grand Marquis.
The matte finish and the lip edges the M4 to perfection.
I can't identify this. Anyone help? seems like a Imperial crossbred with a Chrysler.....
Donkalicious.
One of the few ways one day I can buy a new rear wheel drive wagon with a big engine. The only one closest is the current gen 328i Xdrive wagon. Sniffles.
This El Camino is ready for Archer secret agent missions, except it needs a bit of suspension work..at least it can park in yellow zones.
Blurry shot a Grand National. Turbos spooling on an American car from that age. That only happened once successfully...as far as I'm concerned.
The 328. Shame Group B got cancelled and the few attempts at a rallycross Ferrari was shut down.
300zx...good luck having a mechanic working in the engine bay, packed full of a giant V6, Turbo, turbo plumbing, and all the all wheel steering plumbing.
*grabs CB radio* "Bandit, careful up front; there's someone revving to the point your alarm starts blaring, over"
The stagent line with a bunch of Cafe Spa folks scuttering about to keep chaos at bay. At least they weren't doing those awful videos.
A NSX, Hellcat, and 335i sedan go to a bar. Something tells me the NSX still dances in the mindset of the 90s. The Hellcat goes all out with insane dancing on amphetamines and EDM. The 335i sedan just sips his gin and tonic, ends up towing both of them home.
The Corvette alleyway that came with the local Corvette Owners' Club. One of them excitedly rushed away to take a picture of a Ferrari.
The "one block" led bar lights look amazing. Basically a grown up version of angel eyes.
Shout out to all the FoST and FiST owners of Oppo!
This is a beautiful white Aston Martin that changed colors in the sun. I can only imagine the horror of a speed bump for this guy.
This could be a special edition Ferrari, for all, it doesn't matter. The only interesting thing that could happen to this Ferrari's lifespan would be a the reluctant owner taking on a revving contest.
The Spyker is shuffled to another spot, weirdly with only one a safety rope on the left side of the car. The new spot likely had a Audi mechanic standing by there.
ANGRY ANGRY ANGRY ANGRY ANGRY VIPER NEXT TO THE SERIOUS ANGRY DOCENT G WAGON THAT HAS A OWNER THAT UNDERSTANDS THE SIGNIFICANCE OF IT
What happened to the rear trunklid? That does NOT look OEM. Especially those indents...look like someone took a hammer to it.
Riveted fenders. Side Exhaust. Wide ass wheels. Pretty badass though. Much racecar.
He exited early. Party pooper.
A Saleen and a Cobra. Both from a era where imaginations went wild among the tuners and chock full of budget.
A beautiful Viper with a even more awesome paint job, done by Saleen. The Viper is beautiful, but flawed. It's got a truck engine redone by Italians. It is only driven by the few with enough skill to handle her. She isn't a plaything. She's serious and ready to slap you into a spin through the corner. But she's the unforgivable.
A shiny air filter....oh wait, it's chromed! Did some bastard use rustoleum on a air filter?
Psyche! It's the awesome center cap to a corvette stingray!
Good ol' Merican carborated power. 390 cubic inches....displacement motherfuckers!
The engine was placed in a GM product (someone help me) that was then shot with generous amounts of light bokeh.
Shout out to Stef and Puffalumps, Peter Penguin joins the stuffed animals league of cars.
Peter Penguin was here. And that's a fine paint job on a lovely car.
Archer would drive this. I like this Dodge. DANGER ZONE!
I'm not the biggest fan of the wheels. But I like Holden Commodores and V8s. And getting a good shot of this car was VERY hard with the irregular light.
I liked this car because of the fabrication of the speakers. I've never been a fan of half nude women on the back of trunks, but the bewildering nature of this car goes on.
If this owner had several Xbox 360s, multiplayer GTA V heist squadding! I have to applaud the fabricator who did the beast job.
Ok. This is awesome. I like this in a way. I would never get a car or modify any I would own to be like this (except if I got a Hellcat and wanted to "debadge and posh it up" with a fake Rolls grille). Just my two cents.
A Indian motorcycle, waging through the countless journeys it will face along the way. It may look beaten, but it's used like it was born to be.
More donk...
A stunning shot of DB4, just kidding about the donk. One note: this was not restored. The owner (far right) gave an excellent philosophy on restoring cars. You can restore a car as many times as you want. Once, twice, four thousand. But the essense of a car is that is meant to be driven. This wasn't a garage queen. This races around the twisty roads of Pinehurst and Grizzly Peak, with paint dings from rocks abound to prove fact.
There are things called perfection. I entered this realm at this moment.
Proportions. How proportional.
Ah. mmmm..
The 850R. How I long for a Volvo with performance pedigree. And this was swapped with a 5 speed manual!
You know if you pronounce Volvo with a strong Brooklyn accent, you'll say something else? What it pronounces drips of desire like what I have for my love of Volvos.
Bokeh.
(note I was watching Pretty Woman while doing the post from this up....so that might have influenced a lot of the captions)
I thought the morgan Three wheeler had a small wheelbase. Nothing comes close to this amazing pushrod suspension track machine.
Anything 3 wheeled and enough lights is street legal. Still thinking about a 3 wheeled nissan skyline GTR.
This car was roughly 2 fingers high.
A Testerossa with gold wheels and Brembos....
Matches up nicely with the WRX Bug Eye with gold wheels.
His stereo was so loud that I recommend retorquing every screw on your car doing this.
Anyone know what this is? But seems like an Ariel Atom and a Caterham made a baby. Awesome.
Stripped out, yo!
Asstastic. Much better than Kim Kardashian's.
A 240Z! Fender mirrors...and a surprise under the hood...
A BMW E36 engine cover. I applaud you, sir or ma'am.
A walking high visibility jacket.
The stickerbombed.
uh....
That's a lot of stickers and clearcoat. I asked him about any mechanical mods, he said no. This would be more awesome with a 2ZZ.
This proud Impala owner takes pride in his car.
This brings a point, with people scratching up people's cars. Don't touch people's cars. Even if they aren't there. If you want to sit in their car, ask nicely. If they say no, don't pester on.
Very steampunk.
Looks like a Bowler Defender.
A caged Alfa Romeo 75. It looks very accurate to the one raced in Group A, sans decals.
I took 10 pictures of this just to get the perfect shot.....goddamn lighting.
Chillin'.
Some lucky journalist or Nissan employee got to bring a press GTR. Lucky.
I like the new facelift of the Dodge Charger. I wish they had a manual equipped one.
Detomaso, in a VERY bright orange paint. I suspect they raided the BMW M/ stables for the paint. and 15 MPH bumpers?? WHY
Jesus fucking christ. That looks amazing.
That glorious engine. 454? Someone help me...
I like the matte wraps on M/ Cars. And I've been in a 550i, and the turbo rush is addicting. Same engine. Ahhh..
Shout out to my friend Chris....he has a nice M3. Big BBS.
I want to own one of these one day. It looks like nothing on the road. That's what I like about it.
I like the corvette wheels on another car (no denying those wheels are beautiful) but just not this car.
This is the interior of a Camaro Z71. THERE IS NO VISIBILITY. HOW IN THE FUCK DO YOU DRIVE THIS. (note, I'm 5"4')
Alfa. *loving sigh*
*my pants just got wet*
Why not classic BBS's on the E30 M3? If you have the buck to buy one of those, don't ruin it with a set of rims...
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh soooo shiny my eyes are burning up ahhhhhh
This owner replaced the suspension (and the uberly smooth and beautiful stock suspension arms) of this Prowler. Needs Hellcat swap.
These wheels somewhat shout "SUBARU WRX STI". Ironic that it was next to one.
It's rare to see one outside the certain households I occasionally ride past who own one. And one with such tasteful mods!
He didn't go all JDM on it, but paint it in another paint scheme! There is more to life than just ONE AE86 paint scheme!
I like the Exige wing on the Elise. Plus, diffuser.
This interior was lovely. Such a beautiful interior. Simplification at the finest.
This continues with my philosophy with cutting a car in halves and making it a three wheeler. And with a 2JZ and a Skyline GTR chopped in half and made into a 3 wheeler, it will be street legal.
A product of Saleen's glory days, back then when their cocaine was plentiful and pockets were bulging.
Someone help me identify please.....
Thi
This reminds me fondly of the Volkswagen Brasilla's front.
19 year old with a GTR, what a cock.
Rollin' out.
I think this was the hellcat burnout.......
Don't breathe in that smoke! Mmmm, tire smoke!
Calling Ron Burgundy.
Lovely Nissan. And unintentional photobomb by lady.
Cressida with 2 plates. Uhh.......must be a magical thing.
A Ferrari to end the post.
Enjoy!

Great pics! Thanks for sharing, especially since it probably took forever to format this all and add all the captions!

It's every 1st or 2nd week of each month in SF, this is the one organized by Cafe SpA. There are also ones in Blackhawk every month on Sundays, and the occasional Cars and Croissants in Santana Row (today)

That white atom-like car is an exocet. They use a miata chassis, if I remember correctly.

1. I really like your friends E46 its exactly how I want mine to look.
2. One of my biggest automotive pet peeves is people who put signs up about their car, like the Impala. If you are that damn proud of it, stay around the car and talk to people about it.

I'll send the message over. I agree with you with the signs, it kind of lends an amount of cockiness in the air. You car doesn't need a FAQ page next to the car...

yeah, usually with my narration posts involve a variety of cars, so not to be like the Bay Area Cars Spotters group, where they actually called me out posting rare and obscure cars, not the super cars and HyperCars they feel to post.

technically, someone with some engineering connections can do it. It is very possible. There is a kit for a fiat 500 that exposes the linkage for a gated shifter kit.

Nice shots. Looks like you guys get a great variety of cars coming out.
Just FYI, bokeh refers to the 'soft' or out of focus area of your depth of field. Usually the background. Some lenses produce star shapes out of points of light, but that's different than what's going on in your first shot. You had lots of lens flare in that one.

oh. Thanks for the pointer. The majority of the lens flare actually came from some dust that went into the UV filter and the lens and was causing all the lens flare...cleaning it out with a t shirt was oh so painful....
