At the ripe old age of 30 I thought it was finally time to fix my teeth. All I can say is that I'm in a world of pain! So far I haven't been able to eat a single thing since 9 am yesterday, I have been living on Special K breakfast shakes and snack packs.

Great way to lose weight! Just put your mouth in intense pain for a few months!

One nice thing about getting them when you're older is that you will probably have the patience to wear your retainer after your done. Stupid 17 year old me got lazy with the retainer and my $15,000 smile got a couple tiny gaps in it. Nothing really noticeable to others, but I know people who did the same and had much worse consequences.

I guess it's a good thing I'd rather receive bj's than give.

Yeah your probably right on that part. 15K sounds quite pricy? Mine were 9K but my work benefits pay for 3K of that, so that leaves with with a 6K bill.

Can't reply to the main post, so I'll do it here...
Teeth are my biggest reason for wanting a time machine. I'd go back to 6-yo me and beat his ass 'till he cleaned his teeth properly.

Good luck! I had my top row done when I was about 10, but my sister's teeth were such a costly nightmare that my bottom teeth were deemed "good enough" and I definitely don't want to go through with it at 24, so props to you!

That's not too bad. Took four years to get mine straight and I started at 23. It seemed like it would never end.

I had to have some fairly complicated oral surgery done as well. I had impacted teeth in the roof of my mouth, so they had to pull the baby teeth, cut some holes in the roof of my mouth, attach chains to the impacted teeth, and use the chains to pull the teeth down and twist them around 180° over a few months before my mouth looked nice and purdy. There's a moderately gross picture if you're interested haha.
Fortunately this was 100% covered by my benefits through Mom&Dadco (and whatever benefits they get through their employment or whatever)

I'd rather not see the picture. But good on you for getting it all taken care of.

Haha thanks. Are you doing the traditional wire braces or some other system?

I've essentially never smiled in my life since I've always been conscious of my K9's but I was always too poor to get it fixed at a young age. Technically the bottoms would be "good enough" as well but since I'm getting it done may as well do it all at once and get it over with.
I'M SO HUNGRY!!!

Traditional wire braces since I have K9's way up almost in my nose lol. It's the same price for all the different treatments but this is the only one that would work for me.

Ah ok. Not too bad, same deal I had. Plus you get to have all the fun of picking out which color bands you want!

Actually they don't use bands anymore. Technologie came a long way in braces. It's nothing like I remember my friends having in high school.

Oh wow I only got mine off like four years ago. Well now there's nothing fun about it. Enjoy your life of pain and misery : P

holy shit, I had that exact same thing! One of my chains popped off half way through the time, and they had to go back in. That sucked so hard.
