Lt. Benito Gonzalez Jr., former head of the Camden County Police narcotics unit, has plead guilty to lewdness, in relation to an incident in May of 2014, when he was caught on a surveillance camera showing himself some leadership in a Cherry Hill Starbucks. Apparently, employees at the Starbucks posted a still frame from the video to the Camden County PD's Facebook page, which both lead to his arrest and guaranteed the maximum public embarrassment possible.
The charge has been conditionally dismissed, which means he will be monitored for a year, and if he commits no further offenses, it will be dropped. In the meantime, he is still technically employed, albeit suspended indefinitely, and Camden County is currently working to complete his firing.
