Judging by the casing sizes, .45 Acp.

Nice, I'm planning on taking my girl next Friday since we're both off. It'll be her first time and my 3rd, last time I went I managed to put a .44 Desert Eagle bullet through the same hole twice. It's the hole right above the 5X.

Very interesting, I've always liked the feel of the USP, the big grip was nice to hold. Any pics of that dastardly paper?

Springfield or Kimber or Sig or Dan Wesson for solid 1911 quality!
Ruger ones are cheaper but almost just as nice for a superb value though

really I need to look at ruger. I wanted springfield because they look cooler....yeah.
I like the green finish the fact that the grips are wood and the stampings on the gun are all normal and boring looking.

I think a 1911 is just as much about looks, as it is about the shooting.....
They have fantastic triggers! Welcome the SA master race

I love the way they shoot It just feels so comfortable and I am better with a 1911 than most anything I have shot before. Also the history.

Alas, the MP5k is not mine. But that is me behind the trigger. If you ever have a chance, shoot one!

Awesome, regardless (must be really hard, if even possible to own FA MP5s).

It's a shame HK doesn't care about the civilian market whatsoever. With that said however I have had the opportunity to shoot an MP5. Quite fun and controllable in full auto.

I haven't been in quite some time. Ammunition prices were just insane.

That's really not true. HK has pretty much given the U.S. civilian market everything they could, given the import laws in the U.S. and the much more strict export regulations in Germany. Over the years HK has brought us the SL-6, SL-7, SL-8, SR-9 and more recently the MR556 and MR762 (AR pattern) rifles. For pistols we have had our choice of P7, P9S, USP, P2000, P30, HK45, Mk23, and lately the VP9. Hardly a slacking lineup...

HK you say? Oldie but goodie, assuming you don't take things too seriously: "H und K: Because you suck. And we hate you."
(I'd still love to have a P7, MP5/10, or 416 if I didn't have to pay for them)

That's not really true either. HK could have set up shop in the USA and not worried about German export laws (see SIG Sauer). You're kind of making my point for me, currently they only sell a few variants of the AR platform. Which every company has, see the previously mentioned SIG. Furthermore other European companies continue to off many different choices of rifle to the civilian market, like FN. I'm glad you mentioned the SL platform (all the models you listed are actually the same, unless you really were referring to old bolt actions), which was for sale here. I almost bought one until I realized how difficult it was to turn from a seriously gimped G36 to a somewhat decent rifle. The amount of parts you have to swap out to keep it legal is insane. Furthermore off the shelf they wouldn't even accept 30 round magazines. Then there's was the HK USC, which was a gimped UMP45. Where was the civilian MP5 non existant. Meanwhile look at the competition, they either don't care or can't afford to set up shop here. I like HK, you like HK but let's be honest that their best offerings aren't available to us.
