Its that weird FC that built ambulances on, right? Also, capstan winch.

It's not actually the coachbuilt FC platform IIA. It isn't a normal FC either, though.

Chime in in a minute or two, then. If the other Rover cultists snooze, they lose.

I initially thought 101 Forward but I was wrong, I know what it is, it has a Hitler mustache and was made in Spain.

You are quite correct! It is, in fact, a Santana 1300 FC. One of my favorite kinds. I rather want to bring one to the US from Latin America, due to being as or more available than the "real" Forward Controls and having a much better engine - to say nothing of being LHD. The engine in these is a six built using the parts for the standard OHV four, rather than being the execrable 2.6 F-head or the diesel.

The interior is much like a standard Series II:

Yes, but what is this:
Yes, NZ plates, yes, parked in USA, yes photo mine, no touchy.

I'm wrong anyway! I was going to say IIB, as it's the only one I can think of that has fixed sides(?)
But the height of those body panels had me stumped.

This is a Spanish, Santana 1300 built Land Rover IIa.

IIB or not IIB, that is the question. Whether tis better in the Dormobile to suffer, the stench and ardor of outrageous space limits, or to take parks in a cabover, and by taller camper - end them! Or Jeep, a Jeep perchance to scheme - ay, there's the rub...

FC 101s also have fixed sides in a lot of specs, but this clearly wasn't one of those, either.

I haven't actually been around one, unfortunately. I've only hung around a IIB, a very sad one at that in need of a trans, a frame rework, and very much body work.

Most of them are these days unfortunately. The Santanas have all had a long hard life.
The U.K. IIa, IIb and FC101 have invariably been turned into campers.
The Marshall bodied FC101 Ambulances make great campers while the radio bodied ones have a lower roof line but still sufficient to travel and sleep in.

...and one mad bastard with *part* of a *IIa* FC, listed as a '61... I've seen a decent diesel IIB go for 8 thousand pounds, and those 101s are tempting, but I'd really kind of like a 1300 to round out the set instead. No diesel or IOE-head nuisance six, and not necessarily One Ton axles to make things confusing.

At one time (call it 15+ years ago) there were said to be few enough running Series FCs (not 101s) of any kind in the US to count on both hands. Doubtless there have been more imported since, but they're a mind-boggling rarity in the States.

If only the Freelander had seated 13 and had a canvas top and a straight six. If only.

I think to to find good or decent 1300 your going to have to find a vehicle tracker or a month long holiday in Spain running down leads.
Something a little different.
There is a Santana 2000 (FC101) for sale in Bogota in Colombia.

I want to say IIb, but that's too easy knowing you so I'm going to say it's the spanish cousin the Santana.

Yes! My Land Rover card can remain safely in my oil stained pocket. That reminds me, I need to go double check on some fluid level.
