To keep today broadcasting company centered I thought to inform you that Yle is auctioning some of its old cars !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Most are old movie props. The list includes '61 Dodge, '35 Chevy and '52 Mercedes.

How much money does finland spend annually on the national broadcasting company and is it worth it in your opinion? The National broadcaster here in canada has been cutting it's budget for a while now.

Their annual budget is something between 400-500 million euros and it's funded with Yle tax paid by basically everyone.

Before Yle tax we had TV-license fee which was only collected from those who owned a television. The fee wasn't very good solution from Yle viewpoint as it required TV-license inspectors to visit homes to find out if they watched TV without paying which wasn't very effective as there wasn't any legal obligation to let the inspectors in.

I see. Our national broadcaster funding comes out of general revenue. Now there's a government job eh... "tv license inspector" lol.

Yup :D, the system was changed only few years ago and I'm pretty sure I never encountered them.
