Based on Big Bubba's post on two generations of the same car, what model of car, with one (or different) generations would you make your garage out of?

Mine's pretty obvious, considering my name...

...Yep! the GLi! :D

To start off, my weekend cruiser, a lightly restomoded Mk2 GLi 16v. It'd need 170hp, some meaty tires, big brakes, and suspension work. finished off with some nice BBS's, and black/dark grey paint!

Kinja'd!!!

Second, i'll need a car that is there for one purpose, and one purpose only. Sound. Enter the VW VR6 engine, one of the best sounding engines ever made. a variant of this engine was available in the Mk4 GLi, so i'll have an Mk4 GLi! Oh, and don't hold back on the blue paint, please! Aslo, get some mods on it, some good tires, bring the VR6 up to snuff with basic stuff, and you'll have a 250hp N/A VR6 sports sedan!

Kinja'd!!!

Now, I'll need a show car. Something that people will like to see! Just so happens VW made such a thing! it's called the Mk5 GLi Fahrenheit, and for some 250 lucky souls, it came with a 6-speed row-your-own! I'll need one of these, please! make sure it's low mileage, as well!

Kinja'd!!!

Now for the track toy! The GLi of the 6th generation is criticized for it's "Cheapening" Well then, we'll see about that! my Mk6 Gli will be pushing 310hp, and will be thoroughly prepped to handle turns, and straightaways. It'll be an "Autobahn" model, because it'll be made to destroy kilometres on it's way down the said Autobahn! For nostalgia's sake, let it be Red...

Kinja'd!!!

Last but definitely not least, i'll need a daily. Enter the new, Mk6.5 GLi! Mine would be a fully-loaded SEL model, with Canadian-spec leather, and RNS510 Nav system! also, get it a roof rack, so I can haul my skis around! This one will be silver, to blend in a bit...

Kinja'd!!!

so yeah, that's what I'd do if I had to have a one model garage! :D

I feel the GLI sat in the shadow of the GTI for a while, a bit more obscure.

I was sitting here trying to think of something awesome with V8s that I'd love but I kept sliding back into 4 Cylinder VTEC territory and thus my list.

4th Gen EF Si

Kinja'd!!!

5th Gen EG Si (B18 GSR Motor Swap)

Kinja'd!!!

6th Gen EJ Si

Kinja'd!!!

And finally

8th Gen FA RR

The temple of VTEC runs strong through my blood.

I wish they'd give the GLi the red piping once again.

Skylines

R33 GTS-T as a street legal track car because they're cheap as shit and parts are plentiful. as an added bonus I'd refuse to drift it and set it up for hillclimbs instead. (GT-R pictured but you get what I mean)

Kinja'd!!!

R31 wagon as a daily. (though if Stageas count I'd prefer one of those) I'd put the super comfy Silhouette seats in it for sure.

Kinja'd!!!

'94 R32 GT-R. bone stock for weekend fun times and potential investment.

Kinja'd!!!

Hakosuka as a garage queen for caressing and rarely taking out. a bone stock one would also be nice, but if I could restomod a non-GTR version with modern suspension, brakes and a worked L28 I'd be pretty happy.

*Checks*

Sweeeeet. Now it needs to come in a dark slate blue, and it would be perfect.

I'm graduating from college with a Systems Engineering degree in May and I'll be moving officially into adult-hood after that. A less crazy DD than the ZR-1 is going to be in the near future, and if they keep the red stripe I'd totally consider a new GLi since I've always had a soft-spot for them. Yes, the stripe makes that much of a difference to me!

The only problem is that it's competing with the Chrysler 200 at $28,000. D:

Kinja'd!!!

e92 M3 (ZCP) for daily driving / fun around town / occasional track duty

Kinja'd!!!

e46 M3 CSL for track duty.

Kinja'd!!!

e30 M3 Evo II for weekend fun car / occasional track duties / potential investment

Kinja'd!!!

e46 M3 GTR for full track rat (because racecar!)

1987 Integra RS: As Acura said at the time, it was their best result yet. This was before the NSX, so of course it was. Plus it's got HEADLIGHTS THAT GO UP AND HEADLIGHTS THAT GO DOWN.

Kinja'd!!!

1992 Integra GS-R: DOHC VTEC for the common man! I'll take mine in teal green, please.

Kinja'd!!!

1995 Integra GS-R sedan: The PromotedBy mobile will rise again in some shape or form. This time I'd like it to not get stolen and end up sans drivetrain a town over. JDM Recaros wouldn't hurt either. And an Integra Type-R LSD.

Kinja'd!!!

1997 Integra Type-R: The purest front-driver experience brought to you by mechanical engineering.

Kinja'd!!!

Realtime Racing Integra Type-R: Track day bro? MAKE IT SO.

Kinja'd!!!

2004/2005 Integra Type-R: You are driver! RACING DRIVER! FEEL YOUR HEART BEAT TO TEN THOUSAND REVS!

true, but for $26.5K, you can have a car with a 6-speed manual, more horsepower, and the ability to turn up to 11 with just a little $650 tune from APR. LLC. I have an APR stage1 tune, and trust me, it's the best $650 you can spend!

The car is not only fast in a straight line, but is composed in corners, something the new 200 cannot match.

long story short, the GLi was tuned to drive good. It's like a less erratic GTi, that's a better daily. The Chrysler, while a great car in it's own right, simply won't perform as well due to it's more mainstream intention

and yes, it needs blue soooo bad....
