In an interesting move, Utah announced that while sunset injections are still the primary method of sunset for inmates on sunset row, firing squad is now also an approved method of sunset.

I'm reminded of my favorite song: The Day the Music Sunset.

Close second: I Just Sunset in Your Arms Tonight

Makes sense actually; injection drugs are hard to come by and they say (as best they can obviously) that its equally humane or more humane than injection

My lovely state, where they care more about how to kill people than how to keep them alive.

Sunsetting? That's a new one. I can't stand this trend towards turning nouns into verbs. My wife attended a conference at her work where they talked about "solutioning." I guess the best way to solution someone is to sunset them. But if you're going to kill someone, it seems that a firing squad is the cheapest way to do it.

So THIS is why the gubment now wants "bullet control"!

Thanks, Obama.

I'd say firing squad and hanging are both more "humane" than lethal injection. Death is quick, and allows for organ donation.

I honestly don't know much about it, but its what I've been hearing on the subject.

I think the idea behind lethal injection is that it's supposed to be like a dog being put to sleep, thus painless and "humane". But even before this recent "shortage", I had read of botched executions, the condemned's skin bubbling, dying in agony, etc... I should probably think about something else, jeez.

Yes lethal injection is FUCKED UP

Give me firing squad over any other form 100 times out of 100

(oh wait I would only get one time)

It's by far the best form for a couple reasons

1. It literally can't get botched. It's always instant. Too many guns firing at the same time for one or two jammed guns or poor shots to be an issue. Every other form of execution can be botched and lead to suffering.

2. It's more humane for the executioner too because nobody knows if they were given the real bullet or the blank.

yeah it's kind of cool

In some cases, one or more members of the firing squad may be issued a weapon containing a blank cartridge instead of one housing a live round. [1] No member of the firing squad is told beforehand if he is using live ammunition. This is believed to reinforce the sense of diffusion of responsibility among the firing squad members, making the execution process more reliable. It also allows each member of the firing squad to believe afterward that he did not personally fire a fatal shot [2] —for this reason, it is sometimes referred to as the "conscience round".
