You know why this movie stinks?

Its not because the acting was terrible...cause there certainly worse. It's not because the production values were poor, cause it well produced. The script isn't even, in the grand scheme, all that bad. Its because they give physics, the military and science generally a huge middle finger. The cereal box gender and race casting (only missing that ethnic minority...oh wait, Henry picks up an Asian girl, mission accomplished) is a great analog for the movie in that they clearly tried but the effect is condescending at best, at worst offensive. This movie says: "LOUD NOISES!" but is packaged as intelligent...maybe if it were a comedy. I mean Battleship had more and better logic...like for reals.

Eh, I watch it for the entertainment which it provides. I mean if we applied this logic to Independence Day we could say that it sucks too which would be grounds for treason.

I had never heard of "The Apocalypse Troll" before. Looks interesting. The book cover reminds me of an NES game.

Macross has been around since the 80's and has multiple series. Each can be vastly different in tone. Macross Plus(only 4 episodes) is by far my favorite and was done by the same people who made Cowboy Bebop.

You can download it for free on the baen fifth imperium site. I forget which CD it's on (guessing: Mission of Honor). Along with a whole buncha other stuffs.
