Took my car 1.5hrs of 10/10ths driving to fully warm up. I'm assuming that isn't normal.

Is the radiator full? That's crazy. Wild guess here, but could there have been an air bubble at the thermometer?

by warm up I mean the engine giving me full power on the top end. The entire time my thermostat showed the same as always, sitting at half.

There probly isn't anything broken I'm taking about feeling what is most likely 5hp or less gain only in the last 2000rpm.

Would a thermostat have much to do with engine performance on that level? I know for a fact that I wasn't running too hot or cold.

Ahhh...I assumed you meant that literally the engine wasn't warming up, as in not coming up to temp.
