That's hard, because I haven't got a clue how any of these are, but there's no way I'm going to burn them. Also not much use on the track.... so DD all three?

Was it the FWD that killed the Cord?

Really? I think it is one of the greatest cars to come out of the 30's. Hmm more Auburns for me I guess.

RIP FWD Cord. You choose the wrong way to send power to the wheels

Nope not at all. I'm just not all that familiar with Cord's so I went with what I know.

Wasn't the L29 somewhat underpowered even for the late 1920s?

I think it clocked in around 125hp which is above average for the era

Sure, but lets not forget that it still weighed about 5000lbs and had a top speed of 80mph. Now compare this to a DJ, which was launched in the same year and had an engine made by the same company as the L-29, that made 265hp even without the supercharger and could reach 120mph, faster than most actual sports cars could do a decade later. The much cheaper Auburn V12, also made by the same parent company was faster too. Maybach DS7, just 25hp more than the Cord, weighed 1000lbs more than the Cord, did 95mph. Mercedes-Benz W07, you get the idea.

Sure but on the flip side a Lincoln Model L of similar vintage only had a 90hp engine. Phantom's of the era were dubbed 40/50hp models. So I wouldn't be too hard on the old Cord it was after all not supposed to compete of Maybach or Mercedes-Benz W07.

Incidentally the 40/50HP is better known as the "Silver Ghost", you may have heard of it y'know, made from 1906-1925, so way before the L-29.
