LOL - "$8,000 firm! I won't budge, not even to $7,999!".

That is everything I've ever wanted in a Toyota.

I really want to say nice price, as that's likely less than it would cost to buy a clean Cressida and do the swap yourself. but a 7MGTE swap would appear near stock, cost less, have more potential, and be harder to mess up. likewise, the legendary 1JZGTEs can be swapped in using factory mounts, so I just don't get why this swap was done.

Noise for one, read "Straight piped!" from the ad. Not to mention 250-290hp is plenty, I had fun in my much heavier SC400.

Also this might be complete BS, but I'd imagine since 1JZs, 2JZs and 1UZs all came in the same engine bays it be straight forward swap no matter what engine was used.

I don't usually say this for other people's projects, but this is pretty NP. Everything looks incredibly well done.

The 1UZ is one of the greatest engines TMC ever made. They can handle close to 1000 wheel horsepower without opening the engine, save for headgaskets. Not even the all-holy 2JZ can do that.

Also the 1UZ is the most reliable Toyota engine since the legendary R series 4-bangers from the 80's.

You're missing my point. I wasn't bashing the 1UZ, I'm bashing the idea of paying that much for what is someone else's project. Anyone with the skills to get 1000HP out of a 1UZ likely would do the swap themselves to ensure corners weren't cut. And those without the mechanical skills would be better off with a 7MGTE or 1JZGTE swap, as the swaps can be done with off the shelf factory Toyota parts and those swaps are a lot more common, which means information is a lot easier to find should something break.

I've looked into the swap on my X7 Cressida and the kit to just mount the engine to a manual trans is like $900 alone. Not factoring in mounts, manifold modification, and custom exhaust, it's still not a cheap project. BUT the engine itself is definitely the cheapest of the bunch AND will be more reliable.
