Got a lot done on the Civic, which involved taking apart the entire lower dash. Yay.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

The first thing I did was take out the stock remote CD player, then I did one better and put my aftermarket head unit in its place.

There were many wires involved. I like the results, though. Damn LEDs on that thing are bright as hell and I didn't like having it in my line of sight all the time.

Kinja'd!!!

I also replaced the only-work-20%-of-the-time HVAC control backlights with a couple LEDs. Annoyingly the LEDs aren't diffused like the stock lights, but whatever. Seeing is better than not seeing.

Kinja'd!!!

Found a random fuel gauge in a junk pile. Eventually a boost gauge and fuel pressure gauge will go where the radio was, as well as a momentary toggle switch for the horn.

Probably because he took the stock wheel and therefore original horn button off.

most aftermarket wheels have horn buttons. but yeah I guess I don't see any wires coming through that hub adapter.

I believe it was a very cheap adapter/wheel kit so probably didnt have one.

There was/is an aftermarket alarm on the car that has kind of consumed the horn wiring and relay, so I'm going to bypass ALL of it and make my own fused switch to activate the horn. I could wire it up to the horn button on my steering wheel (sorry Car Guy, it does actually have all the necessary provisions for a horn) but then I have to tap into the wiring in the steering column and I'd rather have a big toggle switch.
