Why not companies have been turning FWD cars to AWD for a while now.

It is front wheel based it is not all that FWD biased. It is actually kinda similar to the EVO system, trust me it doesn't feel too FWD :)

Disagree, my brothers mitsu feels FWD biased, very. My sti? It just understeers, doesn't really have a biased that I can feel.
