It's a 2002 Galant VR4 with 34,000 km's or 21,126 mi, for only $8000 that's a good deal. This car is 2 years from being legal in Canada and about 12 years from being legal in the states, but I think the we're sold in North America so you might be able to get it registered. If I had the money to cover buying it and importing it, I'd wait the 2 years.

I cannot believe you actually put out the possibility of vin swapping in there. Dat's a felony son, might as well go steal one at that point!

Jeez. That's about what you would pay for a previous-gen VR4 in the US.

Wow, I didn't realize they made a VR4 version of the eight gen. I guess I never really thought to research it since we got the previous gen. VR4. I don't know what the rules are in Canada, but since they seem much more lax that the U.S., would they allow you to import it now and store it, but not register it for another two years when it finally becomes legal?

You can register it under show and display for the time being.

I hope the Canadian Show and Display law isn't anything like the U.S. one. We have a very short list of vehicles that qualify for it, and if you want to appeal for something not on the list, you have to make a case for its historical significance and rarity, and most appeals are denied. Good luck if you do decide to try and import it though.
