I was in a store buying this battery.

Kinja'd!!!

I can't believe I got thirteen years out of it in my daily driver.

It only charges up to about 12.4-12.5, so I took it up to the store to get myself another group 48. The last receipt I had for a van battery was 2002, but I thought that couldn't be right. Surely, I have bought one since. Nope. this was the one I bought back then - 13 years ago.

This 48 was a tight fit under the seat, and the replacement 48 was a half inch taller. Damn.

I put it back in and came home to shop for a group 41.

THIRTEEN YEARS.

In 2002, depending on what time of the year you're looking at, I was either in 3rd or 4th grade.

Waiting for my ex wife to graduate college and working a ridiculous job. I sort of wish I'd kept what I was driving then as I still sometimes see it roll around 13 years later (it's owned now by a local minister's wife).

Sophomore in college. More than likely locked in a study room in the library since my entire sophomore year consisted of correcting my abysmal first year grades so my scholarship wouldn't get yoinked away...

If it's Spring 2002, I was in 5th grade. If it's Fall 2002, I was in 6th grade.

Feels like a lifetime ago and like yesterday all at the same time.

13 years ago I would of been on one of the Spanish islands getting wasted everyday (24x400ml cans in the apartment plus six pints for breakfast at a diner, 6-8 pints at another diner for lunch, then go out on the evening and drink a large mix of beer, vodka, whiskey, shots, etc...) crash into bed at 12-2am, then up again at about 7am to go to the shop for another three crates of 24x400ml cans.

Don't ask me how I'm not dead or how the other 11 aren't either. We worked hard and for a while each year we played hard too.

Funniest part was hitting a swell while on a large catamaran. Almost everyone got sea sick and a few fell over and hurt themselves. We all put down our drinks, made for the purser and first aid kits, treated everyone for sickness and injuries then when we got pack to port handed all the paperwork we had on the people treated and headed straight to a diner for fish, chips, mushy pies and several beers. Happy days.

I was probably playing the youngest age of the local soccer league.

I'm young.

But what scarier is some people on here were probably barely potty trained 13 years ago.

Wait, thirteen years and it still charges up to 12.5? Thats incredible.

Oh and in 2002, I was.. 7. So I was in second grade, not even knowing cars had batteries.

Ha. I didn't notice there wasn't an US flag on it until now.

Maybe it works best on Japanese, German, French, and London cars?

I was 15-16, driver's license, rolled my mom's Buick three times into a field, losing control at 80mph on a gravel road will do that. Got an 84 tri-tone shit brown 4 speed escort. Drove it a week until the clutch burned up (I got it free because the clutch was on its way out). It took me and three friends twenty miles at (25mph @ 4k rpm) in 5 middle of a December night in Minnesota, in the middle of nowhere with no cell phones, that was its last hurrah.
