Good god people are really ignorant about cars. One person in particular was talking about how "electrical" cars were a waste of time and if any car makers did any research, because for some reason they dont, they would figure out no one wants electric cars and they should just stop bothering. I'm not the biggest Volt supporter, but damn, thats not how any of this works.

So is the list for the Model X, PR bullshit. (I type this while in a marketing class)

I loved marketing class. Lot's of automotive case studies. I agree on the Model X list but the Model S has a pretty substantial wait and it's definitely in production.

It is a very fun class, has convinced me to add a marketing minor. I really enjoy the material and the professor is young and experienced, makes everything very engaging. We actually talked about the Ford/Firestone issue.

If I could afford it, I would get on the list for a P85D.

Yes, because if there's anything the lineup of every automaker proves, it's that they don't do any research into what people want and just make what they think is cool instead. Any time cars come up in class I usually end up cringing.

I also randomly took a marketing class this semester and I'm really enjoying it. I discussed Cadillac in a presentation today.

Yeah, we did the Firestone issue, Harley Davidson, NASCAR and the Subaru crocodile Dundee commercials where they say it's faster than brand x, safer than brand y, and more efficient than brand z. Makes it sound better than All the brands all around while only being better than each at only one category.

I got to point in my life where I realized that *I* wasn't the market. I was taking classes, reading, studying, living the "market" thing, only to find out, I was a 6 sigma expression of said market curve, most of the time.

It kinda sucked to realize that. But then I could let go of all the cringing, too, so lose-win?
