I'm a big boy. 6'3" and around 320 lbs. Part of the problem with me being a fat boy is that I developed tendinitis in my feet at the early age of 30. Now I'm rocking the walking boot again until I can get to my doctor who will give me Prednisone and I won't flare up again until late summer.

Kinja'd!!!

As such, it's impossible to drive my car with the boot, and with a regular shoe it causes enough pain that I worry about the integrity of the gearbox components.

Today is one day I wish I had an automatic.

I feel your pain
I am 6' 9" and just under 4 bills when I broke a metatarsal right foot about 9 years ago. Right when first born started to crawl.

Ah man, I hope you feel better soon.

Best of luck dealing with the pain, my man. Have you thought about swimming laps? Low impact anaerobic exercise can drastically aid in losing fat and take some pressure off the joints and connecting tissues. Also, you could ask you doctor consultation on prescribing growth hormone. (GH assists greater in the rebuilding a restructuring of connective tissues taken to the extreme in some cases such as bodybuilding/football players)

I have bad knees from other activities (cycling). I always keep a slushbox around for the one or two weeks a year I can barely walk, much less drive a stick!

From pounds to stone. And length in feet and inches. My head spins and I still know nothing (had I not been a frequent visitor of a US based site). Something something metric system.

I'm just shy of 6'2" and 250ish. Definitely at least "husky". The joint pain, now - that's a hands, arms, legs, neck, etc. thing for me, so something I've been needing to get looked into.

I am of similar carriage and had a similar injury crop up a couple of years ago. Here's hoping for a quick recovery!

I feel ya. I used to be fat and that combined with the havoc high level gymnastics wreaked on my body lead to my knees literally falling apart in my late 20s. Doc told me if I kept it up I was either in for continuous surgeries to fix the ligaments and if I didn't choose that swelling would get bad enough I'd lose one or both legs. Good enough motivation to lose weight I suppose.

Human weights (rarely anything else nowadays) are always expressed in stone in the UK and Ireland. Anything else is meaningless.

"I weigh 240 lbs (or 140 kg or whatever)"

"You what?"

1 stone = 14lbs, so a person could be 10 stone 6 or whatever.

Horse races are measured in furlongs, where a furlong is one eighth of a mile. It's just the way things are.

In Sweden 10km is a "mil". Also the way things are.

Fellow Clydesdale here (6 ft 320 pounds / 183 cm 145 kg / bout this high 22 stone 9)

I effed up my knee a couple of years ago and it is a pain (literally) to recover from , especially due to the stress my portly body puts on my legs. Tore my meniscus (sadly while doing burpies) and have gained 45 pounds since. Trying to ride it off if the weather ever improves.

Good luck!

And for you young sports out there, if you are fat lose it now! So much easier dropping weight when you are young.

True story, at one point everybody in my family was taking prednisone:

I had a bone bruise on knee with major swelling

Wife had some sort of rash

Daughter had asthma / allergies

Dog had a spinal injury

It's basically a miracle drug.
