Are these allowed? Just wanna chat with you guys (and gals).
Here's a car similar to one I almost bought a few years ago. Didn't because it was an automatic and it was yellow. I wanted a more subdued color.

It's not their fault that everyone stuck them on everything after. Someone would have done it eventually. The only time I think it's truly unforgivable is when people do it to classic cars. I don't want to see a 68 Camaro with altezzas. It's just wrong

Is she mechanically inclined?
Here's how I would sell the idea:
It has 200k miles (I assume). It's a toyota and they do last, but even Toyotas need things replaced at such a mileage. There's also greater risk of random breakdowns from stuff that just gives up over time. She doesn't want to be out with the family when the water pump decides to give up on life. Or maybe a hose bursts as she's going down the highway. It's very inconvenient. Maybe it goes on to 400k or maybe it shoots a rod through the block (I don't think it has rods but whatever) at 210k. High mileage cars can be good but they're a gamble and if you're not prepared for when you lose to the house (the house always wins) then you can be in trouble.
My corolla I traded in at 250k miles. Still ran fine but needed work. Parts alone were as much or more than the car was worth. I carried a tool bag and a standard floor jack with me at all times. Sometimes had to work on it in clients driveways.

Auto is a little easier to live with. Easier to steal. Fewer miles though.
I don't know about reliability of either.
Charger has more style. GTO easier to fly under the radar. GTO I would imagine is easier to upgrade. Could trans swap if you wanted.
Hope I helped.

Not a fan of Zaxby's? Wut?
I looked at franchising them up here since they stop around Richmond but apparently someone already has the rights even though there's no stores. Same with Sonic. I assume someone who owns a bunch of brands' stores bought them up to prevent the better competition from coming in. Bastards.

For discussion: who replaces stock tungsten bulbs with LED? Which ones?
(since I asked, only fair to answer my own question...)
I've swapped the interior bulbs (map, dome, glove box, trunk) side marker lights, and licence plate lights with LEDs. They're brighter but not obnoxious or distracting to other drivers. Much better visibility too.
Oh, and reversing lights? Yeah, BIG diff there... three or four times brighter with good LED replacements. I consider that a safety improvement for reversing and I'll do that to all my cars.
I'm not sold on LED for turn signal or brake lights. What if you got into an accident? Would your insurance adjuster deny the claim on the basis of "non-street legal" bulbs? Some have the same beam pattern (360-degrees) and similar luminance as stock bulbs so it's not a technical issue.

I've thought about this. The main thing that has stopped me is I know LEDs offer lower resistance vs incandescence which can blow fuses or in the case of blinkers cause them to blink faster.
Either a resistor has to be put in in line or you have to get good LEDs but I don't know what differentiates a good one with proper resistance vs one that doesn't.
I don't know why an insurance company would try to deny claim since many modern cars use them these days. They don't deny claims for incandescent bulbs that aren't OEM.

I don't know...the only guy I know in the fast food biz owns both McDonalds and Dairy Queens (and some frozen yogurt chain I forget) so non-competes certainly aren't universal.
If they're not a competitor I have no clue what would possess them to buy exclusive franchise rights for an entire region then not act on them. They re-up every 2-5 years (I asked but forget the exact time period) so it's not like they just bought them and decided the ROI picture had changed and decided to bail.

I recently picked up the Star Wars Humble Bundle, so I put about 12 hours in Knight of the Old Republic last week. Some brief flirtations with some of the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight series as well. Automation is about to release a huge update too (they may have done it today, not quite sure), so I'll probably sink some time into that this weekend too. I've been swamped with work this week though, and I have a friend staying with me for 10 days next week, so not a lot of time for that sort of things for a little while.

Zaxby's I kind of get since it's not a known quantity up here so the territory is risky. Corporate probably isn't willing to build up solid assets but is willing to allow an individual to lay out the risk dollars. Even if he doesn't build it's money in their coffers for a territory they're not willing to go into themselves.
Sonic, however, makes no sense. It's a national brand, unique setup. It's bizarre because there's a Sonic vacuum if you're going up I95 from Fredricksburg to nearly Baltimore (with one exception on the east portion of the beltway in MD that's grandfathered in) because some mysterious dude bought out the territory and is doing nothing with it.
