There I was, on Interstate 66 lamenting my evening commute home when suddenly my eyes perked. What is that? "What IS THAT, BOY?" , like I was talking to my dog… if I had a dog. Two cars up ahead there was something low and sleek with wide double row tail lights. I maneuver to the left side of my lane to get a better look.

I roll the windows down. Can't hear the exhaust. Traffic is ridiculous for the next several miles so all I can do is sit back and wonder what the rest of the car looks like. The car ahead of my finally changes lanes and now I can see it. It's a 300Zx and damn does it look good in this evening light. The exhaust tips were shiny and so was the canister – definitely aftermarket. I'm a sucker for tuner cars and now I'm really at attention.
And, wait a second. Am I reading that right? The license plate reads "RHD Z32. A JDM Z32? Oh, boy! Sure enough, I see an arm hanging out the right side window. The Z32 driver changes one lane over. No doubt to let me get a better shot.
Now I'm struggling to hold this big ass LG G3 phone sideways and no-look snap off pics like !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . That struggle was real and unfortunately these blurry pics were the best I could get. It was difficult to tell but I feel like the wheels may have been the five spoke SSR Integrals. Suspension looked factory.

He moves one more lane to the right. Maybe he noticed a buffoon in a WRX next to him fumbling with a phone pointed in his direction and decided to protect his investment. In any case I roll up beside him and give a thumbs up. The driver, wearing a cap, acknowledges with a wave back.

That's when I get that "Man, you're an idiot" and sinking stomach feeling. I bet he gets this daily. Whatever though, I snap off another shot and put the phone down. If only all my commutes home were this exciting.

I've always had a thing for the Z32. If I could find a hardtop 5-speed 2-seater I'd do some dirty things to it.

The only thing better than seeing one is owning one. This was mine. The one car I wish I would of never sold.
