for the 505, I am grabbing a set of period Cibie fogs this week. Round because rally, or rectangle because they seem to work better with the design and Euro lights? Cibie because they are French, of course.

They're also similar to the factory driving lights* on my '88 205 GTI, so I might be biased. Mine aren't yellow as my car isn't a French market one.

*) these are not fog lights. They're linked to the high beams and can't be switched on independently.

As much as I love Rally and round lights, you can put me down as another vote for yellow rectangular lights below the bumper. It's just fitting...

Yellow rectangular for sure, on this '80s box.

Over or under? That's not simply a looks question, I would decide based on what you want it for. If you want fog lights, then under, but if you want an auxiliary high beam for night drives, then put it over the bumper in front of the grille.
