With my new HBO mobile app that does not require a previously owned cable/satellite connection, I would grease all the palms to acquire Top Gear from the BBC. Once acquired the show would basically have an unfettered budget, and generally speaking no PC incidents would ever cause an interruption in show production.

did you know, the palms that likely need the most greasing are Jezzas. he owns a good chunk of the rights (or did). thats why they do a top gear special with only 2 presenters that are straight to DVD, those are all his profits.

The best I could find is that as of 2012, the franchise was valued between 50 and 100 Million Lbs.

HBO had operating profit of $1.8 Billion.

They can afford it.
