Finally, you have the answer to a question you likely never asked. What are the worlds top 100 longest cars? Spoiler alert most of them are American. Not even the Mercedes S-Class LWB was long enough to make it on this list of giants. A few disclaimers before you read the list:
Factory limousines or converted limousines are not included.
Wagons are not included. Sedans are the main component of the list.
Coachbuilt pre war cars vary in size therefore finding any data was extremely difficult so most models are omitted with a few notable exceptions.
A 1958 Lincoln Capri was 229in. A 1959 Lincoln Capri was 227.1in. They are listed below under 1958 Lincoln specifications for simplicity. This list would include multiple different models of the same generation otherwise, and that is no fun for anyone. Same goes for Cadillac Series 60 and DeVille. PS I own a 1959 Lincoln Capri! 3rd longest car of the 1950's! Shameless self gloating is shameless.
I created this list over the past several days there may be a few errors. Sorry

The Bugatti Royale had a 12.7 liter inline eight. Now that is a baller engine if ever there was one.

The Royale is just stunning in every way. If you are ever in Detroit go the Ford museum and see the one they have on display.

The 70's was a ridiculous era for the length of cars.

I worked in Detroit for a summer and did have the opportunity to see it on display. It's stunning.
When my grandfather was still alive, he was a docent at the Saratoga Auto Museum. During his tenure there, they had an exhibition of 12 or so restored Bugattis, including the one 57 Atlantic remaining that did not belong to Ralph Lauren. All of the pre-war Bugattis, without exception, are astounding cars.

Sweet, I was once tied at 40-42. Pretty respectable for something from the 90s, really.

Wow now that is spectacular. I hope to one day be able to see that many Pre War Bugattis. Sad they had to go out of business that arguably made Europe's greatest cars.

Damn I knew they would be a few loopholes you found the first one. Sorry I didn't even think to look at the 90s Cadillacs

Is it boasting to say that last month I saw three Royales in the same place?
(admittedly one of them was a replica made from surplus parts)

Few people do. They were on the same platform as the downsized 1977 models, and most people just don't realize how much they grew with the 1993 redesign. GM almost fully reversed the downsizing. Absolutely massive for such a modern car.

Came in here looking to see where 70's Town Cars and Mark V's wound up.
Not disappointed. My dad had a '79 Mark V and it was ENORMOUS - and yet, had very little rear seat leg room.

Really though that is gigantic. Not even an extended Escalade is that large.

The 70's Town Car varied in size. Some are closer to 227in I believe but the largest was 233in but we are picking hairs at that size really.
I am surprised the Mark V had so little rear leg room. Even if it was a coupe I figured there would have to be good space for rear occupants.

I don't often like Pre War Town Cars but the Coupè Napoleon is just so perfect. I know a lot of people don't like the two tone on the Veyron but honestly how can someone criticize it when it harkens back to the Royale.

I could foresee certain difficulties in driving something this size through town though..
Two Royales were sold by the Bugatti family for two fridges and spare change.

I know I find it incredible that usually the most prestigious cars are hard to sell. Dusenberg, Veyron, Royale, etc.
As for driving through town. It would be a small miracle to find a parking spot that fits.

Besides air suspension and quad headlights the Cadillac was little more than a coach door Lincoln Eldorado. The Mark II was entirely unique and was able to sell cars due to their impeccable quality and not their chrome tail fins. But I must admit I do like the chrome tailfins.

Hey Henry Leyalnd was the father of both. At the end of the day either Cadillac or Lincoln we are both admiring marques made by the same man.
