Definitely cool but I don't have the time to futz with a late 70's Audi.

A buddy of mine had an '83 Audi 5000 and it was constantly breaking down.

Yeah, gives it character and gives me endlessly frustrating weekends tracking down electrical gremlins, combing eBay for parts, and busted, bloody knuckles. For a not really great driving funky wagon.

Sorry, opportunity cost is too high for the return.

If I'm going to buy a frustrating undependable car with parts no longer available in the US I'd much rather go with something closer to this:
