Many things have happened since I was last comprehensive about this car.
I got some goodies a while back from Pelican Parts, and the little M10 is much happier after plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and injector seals. The injectors were basically falling out.....I'm currently running Jectron through it, and once that is done I'll replace the fuel filter.
^At my friends suggestion, windows popped out and sunroof tilted at all times for max 80s swag
The next big thing was the subframe mounts, I chose to get these polyurethane mounts from Eurometric, and they are fantastic. Beautiful to look at, and they feel awesome. I will definitely be buying more Eurometric poly bushings when I start tightening up the suspension more.
^Before, notice the gnarly bit if metal welded in where there should've been rubber
^After, much better, most clunking and rear steering is gone.
The engine has been making a tapping noise, which I assumed was it just needing a valve adjustment, and that's what my mechanic though too. It turns out that the shop who did the head gasket for the previous owner didn't reconnect the oil line under the valve cover that sprays each cam lobe, oil was just spraying randomly up there. The diagnosis is one or more of the cams have had their profile worn down somewhere on the lobe, not where he adjusted the clearances. So I just get to live with the tapping until I get a new cam or a regrind.
Found a friend, looking a little tired.
So that brings us to today. I'm still dailying it, it's ridiculously good on gas, it's fairly slow, and it's a ton of fun. But every time I fix something, I see more potential for improvement. so it's probably not gonna stop taking my money anytime soon....

It warms my heart to see another loved e21! I posted some better pics of mine, but nothing I post shows up. How do you share posts with everybody? Anyway, I like the front bumper delete, are you going to do the same to the rear? What are your plans to clean up where the front bumper was? how many Kms? I have 236 xxx on mine. Do/did you have any issues with your guibo clutch? Oh, so many questions.....

You have to compose the post from the main Oppositelock screen, it should show up then, and say "post to oppositelock" when you finish.
Thanks! The rear is gonna keep its bumper unless I decide to get Euro bumpers, and the front will either stay as is, or I'll put the rub strip from the US bumper over the holes. It has 217k on it. The clutch sometimes needs a couple pumps to fully bring it back after it's sat a minute at a red light, otherwise it grabs too early. There is some driveline slop, which could well be because of the guibo, as of today I'll be too busy making it not randomly die to worry about that yet though
