This just arrived today, it's a Seiko Recraft snkm97. I've been looking for a 70s-style watch for a while, and the price was right, so I bought it as a birthday present for myself. It's also my first automatic (that works, anyways), so I'm happy! My only complaint is that it's self-winding only, since I won't be wearing it everyday.

I've been wanting a green face watch like that for a long time now. I was thinking about one of the green faced Nixons, but wanted to get something with a bit more history like a Seiko. That's a really interesting looking watch. I've been obsessed with the looks of the SSC017 for awhile too now so who knows what I'll end up going with next.

Also, nice on the first automatic. Those are fun

I'd definitely recommend it if you want a mechanical watch. Like most new Seikos, you can find them online for $80-$100 off list price.

Very nice. This is a much more better looking basic automatic than the your bog-standard seiko 5. I've been looking for a nice cushion case automatic like that, but I have such skinny wrists. I look silly with anything with a case width over 40mm.

The case on this one is pretty big, but it's not obnoxiously so.

I had a cheapie Seiko automatic diver's watch. It didn't keep very good time, so rather than spend a decent chunk of change on getting it working properly, I bought another watch.
