Sadly, that looks like some form of the composite laminate flooring, and not real hardwood. It also appears to be remnants. I worry about the overall build quality if the last inch is cheap when the total cost difference for the high end wood with no pieces to bring it to the full width is at the most another $50. (If it is real hard wood.)

The only other explanation would be that the owner wanted the look of a wood floor joints. And I'm afraid that would bring in to question the sanity of the owner.

Who am I kidding. Wood anything as the floor of a trunk brings the sanity of the owner into question. Showcasing it in a photo just proves it.
