Came here to post the Gran Turismo II soundtrack, but you already started with Garbage. Only thing I didn't like was having the same song on loop during endurance races instead of rotating through.

Garbage, Filter, Soul Coughing, Stone Temple Pilots, Crystal Method, Rob Zombie, Fear Factory, and Foo Fighters...not bad.

Well, Horizon 2 has my favourite Clash song - the video above, naturally - but, overall, the soundtrack's actually something of a disappointment after the first game's.

Drift Stage's whole OST is pretty fantastic. The composer's Soundcloud is well worth a look:

Rush 2 had the most bangin' drum'n'bass soundtrack, this was my favorite:

Overall though Need For Speed Underground 2 had the best tracklist of any racing game I've ever played:

It's also my favorite racing game of all time, though I think I've logged a lot more hours in Fourza.

Everytime I hear Panama by Van Halen, I immediately am transported into gt4. If I'm driving, that means immediate downshift to keep the revs up because I just entered race car mode! Honestly though, I always turn off in game music in racing games because I just want to hear the motors and the tires. True music to my ears

Death In Vegas - Aisha:

Reminds me of wringing out the Pikes Peak Escudo around the boards of the test track endurance race. No downforce, supersoft tyres, 270mph top speed, endurance race completed in less than 30 minutes. Good times.

From the very first racing game I ever played, NFS Carbon. They changed the playlist depending on what class of car you drove, and I drove the worst performing cars in the game, the muscle cars, just to hear this and other rock tracks.
