Say it motherfucker! If you can't appreciate a stylish American sleeper car that can whip up on some of the world's best and brightest, then you don't get it. And they call me a ricer! Apparently y'all aren't happy unless it's covered in wings, gills, and an outlandish set of 18 exhaust pipes.

I like it. Looks fantastic in white. They could tone down the gaudy "chrome" wheels though

I'm sorry, but I've seen them in person. Almost mistook them for a malibu, that's my issue.
Take out the chrome, add some more aggressive styling and subtract the corporate grill. It's not too far from where it needs to be IMO, but I'm not a fan.
It's a GREAT car, and I would 100% own one if I could afford it. But doesn't quite meet my personal preferences aesthetically.

I've said it elsewhere that this is how a muscle car is supposed to look. This is how many of them were back in the day. Barely distinguishable from the common car at a distance (minus a flamboyant paint job for some).

I love it, it's a little more subtle than the Holden's I saw in London but I think the subtlety works in its favor

Why is a sleeper a sleeper? Because its bland, that's what makes it a sleeper.

The performance might be great, but the styling is bland as white toast. Don't be upset though, I feel the same way about new BMW's too.

I am definitely not a GM fanboy(that is by far an understatement), but I don't think it looks like a Malibu at all. A Malibu has a bland, blobbish, emotionless look, while the SS looks like the average midsize luxury sedan.

The odd thing is I am on the GM side of things. But their regular cars (i.e. not corvette/camaro) have been so disgustingly meh lately it's upsetting (IMO).
There's a reason I'm driving a Ford, and it's because they dared to be a bit more interesting.

Even their fullsize trucks are on the meh side. They have fuel economy going for them. And chrome. Lots of chrome. And their diesel trucks? It's like they aren't even trying. They are bringing a dull knife to the newest and greatest high tech missile fight. They are nearly 100 ft. lbs of torque down in a class of which that is one of the most important numbers. Of all classes you should be trying in, in the U.S. at least, that is the one.

I love it. Unfortunately its another example of "Give people what they ask for" but , then they want nothing to do with it.
Example, this, CTSV wagon, G8 etc

It is too close to the rest of the line. i'm okay with the sleeper look, but i prefer a clean design with less chrome & more differentiation from the rest of the bowties - especially when you're asking $45,000. Thats strong money for vanilla style. The only one I've seen looked nearly indistiguishable from a Malibu or Impala.
You don't need wings, grills, outlandish whatever you said — you can make a good clean design that works well and looks nice without being over the top. The new Chrysler 200 comes to mind — worlds better looking IMO and cleaner. If you want to stick with GM, I would say most Caddys look way better. Considering the SS is in Caddy pricing territory, I think that is a fair assessment.
And to whoever said a muscle car should look like the regular model, I would maybe agree if GM actually offered a lower model SS with an asking price comparable to the Charger.

It's not bland to me but I like GM vehicles so there's a bit of bias there.
And if anyone comes at this I will dismiss your fucking comment because I'm not in the mood for a fucking argument about General Motors.

Well... Kinda. They gave us what we asked for, just for a price that was laughable, but hey in a few years when they depreciate it'll be an awesome deal I'm sure.

No, a car can still be bland without being flashy. This is bland. Take the charger, it's not flashy, but not exactly bland. It manages to differentiate itself from the rest of the chrysler line up. It has a muscular figure, the word presence comes to mind. This car though? hard to tell it apart from a malibu or impala really.... then again it is just a badge engineered bastard.

15 year old long in the tooth australian family sedan based off of a 20 year old opel platform with a cheesy tacked on badge and grille assembly is a "stylish American sedan"?

Yes, you do. Two silhouette race cars build to a "common template" body with 3/4 spec chassis components and tightly controlled mostly spec engine rules.

Nothing in that holden is a "production" bodyshell. The Aussie V8s have all been a common chassis since 2003.
