Hindsight is 20-20, and in retrospect I should've been prepared for this. But still, she never even gave me a glance, at any point.

Yup, I accidentally replied to myself.
At first, it looked like she was going to stop as she was supposed to. Then she decided that stopping is overrated.

Stopping IS overrated, right??? I wonder if it was an honest mistake of just missing the car. I've done it, and then immediately wished for a "sorry" rearward facing light to show I'm not an asshole

This is why I wish we all drove demolition derby cars and there were no rules. Anything goes.

Also, here in NE the 3 or so larger counties (read: the only ones with any people in them) have switched to six letter/number combo plates. Anytime you see a NE plate that begins with a number and a dash, especially a double-digit number like Miss County 10 here, in the city, you can almost guarantee they will be driving in a clueless and scared fashion.

I think a 10+ year old minivan in questionable shape is one of the most dangerous vehicles on the road. Because of the people that drive them.

Wait, you mean there are other things around us besides what's in front??! Next you'll be telling me I need to be checking my mirrors, and look behind me while reversing

As someone who grew up in a mid-teen county, I grew up learning to fear our neighbors from 30-county. I remember the only time our car was damaged (in the church parking lot, at that) it was from a 30-county, and after that I started to notice how much they couldn't drive, even when in our "big city" in the middle of nowhere.

Man, a beat up old minivan like that? I'd be shocked if it didn't pull out in front of you in a situation like that. It's almost mandatory.

I think you were turning a little too fast (could be video making it seem like that). Van driver may have looked towards the left and didn't see any vehicles coming.

1. I was turning at about 30, so maybe a little fast.
2. What's gonna hit her from the right? Her last look left shouldnt have been 10 feet back in the driveway, especially right next to a turnoff from a major road.

Yep, this. Sure, sm70 was moving along pretty good (my kind of driver), but the minivan never even paused at the end of the drive. She just glided right through.
