"Pearson Hurst" (phurst)

A guy in my neighborhood is selling this '61. V8, three-on-the-tree, solid body, runs and drives (albeit not legally, since it's sans headlights). Last inspected in 2012. The $4k he wants is a little steep, but he sounds willing to negotiate a bit. Thankfully I have a wife who is adept at talking me out of such frivolity. Still, I slow down and stare every day on the way to/from work.

I see only a perfectly rational utility vehicle.

Well, maybe not irrational, more like impractical (which ha never stopped me from doing something before). My wife calls my Scout impractical as well, but I haul stuff with it, and have used it to get about in the snow. Somehow I can't see myself hauling anything in that, and I sure as hell wouldn't drive it in the snow.

I also have a giant soft spot for stepsides. Why can't they make anything that looks like that anymore???

It shouldn't be too hard/expensive to make it have lights again. Couple of sealed beams, maybe headlight buckets? Good as new. Hell even wiring up a couple KC's could work, although you'd only have one beam.
