My personal vote would actually be for Acadian, think about it, it could be a kind of revived Pontiac, with rebadged Holdens, the ideal lineup would be:
Beaumont (Coupe/Sedan) (Code 130R/ATS platform)
Canso (Holden Caprice platform)
Canso Sport Deluxe Sedan, Wagon, and Ute (Commodore/Maloo Gen-F HSV platform)
And a body-on-frame compact SUV (Holden Colorado 7 platform)

I agree with Pontiac, it was so in our culture with the Trans Am and stuff. I feel like Pontiac is a part of American history.
And GM has no performance brand to replace it. Atleast Oldsmobile was kinda redundant with Buick around, so it was used for experimental stuff, and Saturn was redundant because it was purely imports, as was Pontiac.
Pontiac should also get a Camaro based Trans Am obviously, and the whole brand should be revived as a Sport brand.
I think their Compact should be a sport based Cruze, like the G5 was, but the Cruze is much better than the Cobalt.

I thought Acadian was a model (of Pontiac) not a brand.

What's the point of that? They're pretty much Pontiacs.

Nope, it was a seperate brand created by GM canada in the 60s, to give Pontiac dealers a compact car to sell.

Bring the top teir of luxury back to america! They can build Sports cars and GT cars under the Auburn name. The they could build Bugatti level GT's and Maybach level sedans under the Duesenberg name!

I second bringing back an American luxury manufacturer, but im a bit biased in this situation:
Packard was just pure unfiltered luxury, and i'm a bit biased as i'm closely related to the person who started it.

I was gonna say packard. but since Auburn covered, well Auburn and later also Duesenberg, I went that route for two brands under one roof, all luxury.. Also, no one ever said "Hey! It's a packard!" hehe

Packard could be revived as ultra luxury for America, competing with Bentley and Rolls Royce.
I think the hard part is selling, I'm sure there is a market for rich people to buy American luxury, but it's not as big as just buying a Rolls or Bentley

Honestly I wouldn't mind seeing them make Buick the performance brand. New firebreathing Wildcat or reincarnation of the Grand national GNX wouldn't hurt most people's image of the brand anyway.

Oh yeah, it would totally help. I mean Buick is trying to be inbetween Cadillac and Chevy, but they could also go a total sports direction. Then they will have more unique qualities instead of being the "entry to luxury".

Some of the other Chevy brands can be quite plush with the proper trim level, so IMHO, they may as well.

Duesenberg, because it's about time America had something to kick Bentley and RR's asses again. The only logical way (and it's still somewhat illogical at that, because the name lost most of it's cache many decades ago) would be for GM to buy it, position it above Cadillac as that brand moves to directly compete with BMW/MB, and share some platforms and tech with Cadillac.
Because it was once the greatest car builder in the world, producing not only world class luxury and styling, but also incredible performance for it's time, 320 HP in the 1932 SJ and 400 HP in the 1935 SSJ

Wildcat isn't enough. GNX isn't enough. Buick needs to revive the monster machine that rivaled the Hemi during the muscle car heyday.
Bring back the Gran Sport. Bring back the GSX Stage 1.

I think they should have killed off Buick instead of Oldsmobile. Oldsmobiles seemed like the sporty car for old folks. They could have still done the same thing with rebadging Opels, but bring back some of the unique models. The Aurora was a breath of fresh air while the rest of GM, aside from the Corvette and Cadillacs were just badge engineered. The 90s Cutlass was the only W body to offer a convertible. They had the Aerotechs in the 90s, and made modified 4.0L Aurora V8s for use in Indy cars.

I'm going to say Oldsmobile. Even when they started circling the drain, the still made interesting cars, and they were always the innovators for not only GM, but the entire American auto industry in general. They were the guys that made FWD awesome, that alone has historical significance. Plus, their later models were at least kind of revolutionary in design, flavor, and image even if they're not my cup of tea. They should be around instead of Buick, the last model Buick I could think of that could be remembered fondly was the first gen Park Avenue. Plus, three words. Modern. Day. Toronado.

There's an odd thing I do with questions like these. If something used to exist, then stopped, time passes, then we want to "bring it back": what does it mean to "bring it back" really? It *shouldn't* be what it was, since that was then - it should be what it would have become *now*, had it lived with all the competitive pressures on it.
Now we're talking sci-fi. Or anthropology. Or psychophysics. Dunno.
My vote, unpopular though it may be, is related not to what initially was designed, but to the design direction from the people producing it.
