I've given up hope that we'll ever get those. Since we were supposed to get them my friends played GTA on PS3 until they were sick of it. Upgraded to PS4 and got sick of that and promptly forgot about the game. I didnt even bother upgrading to PS4.

March 10th, apparently. There's even a little release date thing on the loading screens. It could still be delayed, of course, but I think Rockstar have redirected all their delay powers towards the increasingly beleaguered PC version.

I havent been on in a few months apart from a 30 minute go a couple weeks ago. The frame rate looked about 5fps and the lag was incredible so I gave up.

Sure sounds like at least one of the 'guards' was in on it. It's a bit convenient/contrived to have 'mechanical problems' and have 3 armed dudes just happen to show up in a van while they're 'fixing them' on the side of I95.

Annoyingly it is the same day as a game I consider to be the true successor to Simcity 4, Cities Skylines. That said GTA Online will probably crumble again making my decision easy.

Me and some friends got the Xbox One version, so performance is still okay. We're doing some jobs to save up for all the heist gear at the mo. They've dramatically upped the payout for pretty much everything.

My thoughts exactly, or that at the minimum the mechanical troubles were arranged for. I don't expect the problems could have been arranged for in Miami unless done in a very sophisticated way, though, so that points back toward the driver unless the heist was pure Hollywood in its planning. Or somebody with a ready team and a knowledge of the schedule managed to geek the brake lines or get in the fuel tank during a scheduled stop... somehow. Rather incredible.

Yeah, it'll almost certainly be completely busted at launch. I'll still at least try for a bit on the day, of course, but I'm not holding my breath.

Wasn't there an episode of Monk or Psych where the guy at the repair shop rigged the armored vans to flip and made a hole on the bottom to punch through? Maybe it was arranged by someone at the depot.

Yeah, it does, strangely... We tend to play for a stretch, then take a break for a few months, then play some more. A fair bit of the time, a content update of some sort'll have come out in the meantime, so we'll have fresh stuff to look at.

See, I can imagine a way to make this thing "break down" anytime, anywhere I want, so the spot can be picked perfectly - an RC plane servo, a simple two-channel or so receiver board, and a ball valve, stuck on a bracket, spliced into the main fuel supply. Parts: under $80 even counting the controller, and you can reach under the armored car (still stranded), rip it off, and take it with you. That's for precision and range, you could even bodge it together out of a $30 toy car if you were okay with the trigger car getting closer. Installing would require about a half hour of access. Traceability is nil if the only thing left is a little NAPA fuel line and two hose clamps.

Probably a good thing most crooks are dumb.

I don't believe armored vehicles are every unattended at stops so that'd have to be some really sneaky dudes to actually cut something or drill into the tank without being noticed. Putting something in fuel tank is a no-go either unless the managed to contaminate the source somehow since those are locked down.

The last update that interested me was the monster truck. Since my friends don't play on PS3 anymore I doubt I'll go back to it, it's dull alone.

Hence my phrase "incredible" - not believable. It's very easy to set something like this up if you have more unrestricted access - restricted, not so much.
