The offer letter came today.

As a condition of my employment, they are offering me a $780/Month car allowance. Three conditions, 1. Must be a four door, 2. Must be no more than 4 years old. 3. Must be GM, Ford, or Chrysler.

What would you get with it?

Here is the early front runner:

Get someone you know who wants a car—any car—with a $780 monthly payment, then buy it in your name with your allowance. Have them pay you $780 a month in cash and buy a Miata every three months. Make sure they let you take the car to work once every few weeks so people don't catch on.

ATS–V is cool too. Damn that is a sick perk.

I presume the job involves lots of driving and needs to be comfortable. And if you want to stay within that $780/month allowance (including operating costs), it means it shouldn't cost more than $400/month.

So an ATS with the 2L turbo, not the V-model you have pictured, would probably be a good choice.

Or if you want more space and comfort, a Buick Regal Turbo or an Ford Fusion with the Ecoboost could be a nice option.

Of course if you don't care about kicking in some of your own money, sure, get that V-Caddy... or even a SRT or Hellcat Charger.

Are you looking for something with a manual or automatic?
