Honda should make a new Prelude.

Been saying that for YEARS. Heck make it an Acura for all I care then add that SH-AWD system to it. Acura NEEDS a reasonably priced sporty coupe. Just use the drivetrain from the TLX and drop it into the Prelude. Question is what would they name it to fit into their scheme.

I feel like the Accord Coupe takes the place for the Prelude in the segment. Like, the coupe looks different enough that if it had the name "Prelude" people wouldn't mind.
I feel like Acura needs the RSX or Honda needs the Integra.
The RSX was selling like crazy but Acura axed it because "it wanted to move up as a brand and not have a car bought by teenagers"
Well Acura got what they want, now only the 65+ crowd wants them.

Give the Accord RWS and an I4T and you got your Prelude.

I'm honestly suprised how no other company has jumped on the bandwagon. Honda Accord coupe sells decently enough, and they haven't had a competitor since the Solara was removed like 6 years ago or so.
Accord Coupe is like 10000 better than the Camry Solara though, I feel like the Solara only sells to the Chrysler sebring target market. Atleast Accord Coupe is kinda cool and has some street cred.
HFV has no HFV. But somehow has 2 motorcycles

No the prelude was set apart from the Accord Coupe by more than what was under the skin. It looked sexier, more premium... it had a longer hood.

I see you forgot that the Altima Coupe also existed. It died out I think 2 years ago.

It'd be awesome - but I just don't think there is enough volume.. That market is basically already handled by the Civic Si and you don't see many of those around as it is. Maybe wait until Honda spools up production of the turbo motor from type R. Or make it a 2nd gen S2000 - Prelude S2000?

Hopefully other brands do it too. The sporty coupe basically died in the early 00's.

It flew over a lot of people heads and that's why it ceased selling. Also it lost all comparos to the Accord Coupe.

the funny thing about Solaras, is that almost every one I've seen is a red convertible. I remember cleaning two one day.

Pretty common here, usually silver/beige

oddly, I don't see any in those colours, they're either silver-ish blue, or glossy red with a softtop.

The one Honda that needs that paint scheme more than any other...

Only if it's RWD.
I don't even care if they strap an engine in it that only makes like 120 HP or something, it has to be small and RWD.

Which is unfortunate. I was actually considering buying one but then I found out they had dropped the 3.5 L from the Altima Coupe.

NO the Prelude stole our hearts as a FWD RWS funbox.

Right, but it always looked like a RWD car and I'd rather Honda make it RWD so I don't have to do the conversion myself.

It'd be like re-making the Audi Quattro as a RWD car. The Prelude showed us that FWD can be spunky. Frankly, they'd ruin the name if they did that.
But to each his own I guess.

But there's no shortage of sporting FWD coupes. We've got all of those hot hatches, we've got the tC, we've got Civic coupes. We don't need another FWD car. All we've got in the cheap RWD segment are the Miata and the GT86. Why not a Prelude (Del Sol?) remake in that vein? It's not a replacement for the S2000, which was an actual sports car.
