Read !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! how they're going to transform LMP2 into a horrible combination between LMP2 and DP, instead of a downsized LMP1.
I'm pretty sure that this is what happened at the WEC/ACO/TUSC meeting, from Daytona.

OH NO! They didn't do what you wanted! We must ban all international sports car racing forever now! /s
Get over the DPs for fucks sake. They're fun to watch race and sound miles better than P2's. Not to mention more reliable as well. And cheaper.

What about this line?
"The new cars would be based on a 2014 spec LMP1 monocoque with a 4 year homologation period for the new LMP2. "
I do wish they'd stop fucking with the rules. It often seems they're trying to kill manufacturer involvement rather than foster it. What manufacturer is going to care about a Spec, single source engine? Give us stable rules for LMP1 & 2, and keep the spec rules for LMPC. Top teams are always going to find a way around "low budget" regulations.

I don't understand! They already have spec cars with LMPC/LMP3. What on earth are these for? We talked about this on our podcast tonight. Check it out if you want:
