If no one actually pays attention to them!? Neither one even bothered to slow down. I'm glad I decided not to turn left today...

Really really.

It was quite ironic because I didn't even intend for the video to end there... that was the exact moment my dashcam finished that 3 minute section..

We convinced someone at work that stop signs with white borders are optional. It was after we caught him trying to scrape off his inspection sticker because it cluttered up the windshield.

I wish I had have had a dashcam the other day for the same reason. I came to a 4-way stop first, then the person to my right decided because I stopped, that was me giving them permission to blow the stop sign and turn left. If I had have done the same thing, that would probably have been the end of him and his car. I don't think people realize what would happen if the other person gave less fucks than them.

Although you should not run stop signs, road planners have constructed their own demise by placing many stop signs as traffic calming measures for no reason.
Thus people come to see many of them as unnecessary even though some of them certainly are for safety.

Those were two of the best things my driver's ed teacher taught me. Always look ahead of you and predict the stupidity.
You really do have to think about these other people and react to that..otherwise shit like this happens

When they are sprinkled everywhere, there is no point. They just encourage people to breeze through rather than stop every 15 seconds. Better plan—within residential ares, put up no signs for the most heavily travelled streets, and yeilds for those intersecting with them. Obviously stop signs or traffic lights will be required where they intersect with the main roads, but to my mind that's about it.

My Dad was a UPS driver for almost 20 years, and that advice was drilled into my head before I ever got my permit.

Sadly this is very true... but there are 3 intersections in my neighborhood (this being one of them) that can get super hectic because it is the connection to all the major roads... people need to actually use this one

Its sad how right you are. There are just so many that people don't care enough... but especially when you see another car at the intersection you should stop!

I realize this man is ideological, but he makes a great point about respect for the law. It's worth the 5 minutes.

this was no folks "breezing through" or slowing but not stopping, they were hauling some serious arse!

I have never been to Florida so I can't comment on the status of this particular stop sign, I defer to you're opinion on it.
But if people regarded all stop signs as true harbingers of somewhere they should actually stop rather than inconveniences placed in their way for no reason, then this behaviour would be less likely.
In Alberta, where there is stop signs to cross Canada's major east west highways for example, people usually stop, although I have seen mistakes made.

Looking as close as I can, I don't see the stop sign on their side? Maybe it got knocked down?
We had an intersection in town change from a two-way stop right to a traffic light! I am always sitting at that light thinking 'nobody is fucking here, why isn't this just a 4-way stop?' - because SAVE THE CHILDRENS THERE IS A SCHOOL NEARBY. Hardly anybody freaking walks to school anyway, they are all dropped off.

if you pause it right around 6 seconds you can make it out... Just so happens to blend in with the sky today.. It's a 4 way intersection and has been for over 10 years...
I do agree though sometimes traffic planning is just insane

Yup, I see it now. They were both mooovin too. Had to be deliberate.

I don't normally honk at people who are doing thing that don't affect me...I would've honked at those guys too.

Or roundabouts.

That I cannot disagree with. I can't deny that I have rolled through stop signs, but if there is someone there and you don't stop, well...
That's just idiotic.

For new decelopments, definitely roundabouts. I was thinking more of older area, where that might be difficult.
