And not a single fuck was given that day.
Volkswagen just remembered that it still builds the ancient !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! folding hardtop convertible, an epiphany which must have reminded the company that it sells relatively few of the things. In light of this, and according to !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , VW has officially decided to kill off the model midway through this year after a largely mediocre nine-year production run.

"ancient" WTF didn't that car come out in '06 or '07? Talk about short attention span.

As a lifelong VW driver, I think I've seen maybe three of those things. And my reaction was always, "WTF?" This is the only EOS I drive:

Huh, I thought it was discontinued in 2012 for some reason. :/

my sister had one when they first came out. Was in the shop about 8 times for just the top not being aligned. What a piece of shit. She sold it with 40K on it and got a Murano

This was much nicer than an Eos and basically the same car but lighter and shorter. The whole metal folding hardtop thing has always been strange to me (except the 2nd gen c70 the roof on that was excellent).

Destined to go the ways of the other cabrios in vw line. Hate the look of them bone stock, but really dig what others do when they build them out. Scirroco front end on the EOS particularly looks stellar. Case in point (minus stance)

This is a bummer. I like the EOS. I've driven several while I was a valet and they are cool cars.

convertables have been rapidly declining in popularity anyways and i'm surprised it was still made lol

You mean people don't want to pay almost 40k for a base golf coupe just because the roof folds?

Hey, speak for yourself.

I've seen 2-4 in my time and it always surprises me. Mainly because I always see them in the middle of winter.

Oh god, please tell me it was a Murano Crosscabriolet. I'll fucking die.

That's almost a decade buddy, do the math.
Apparently it was still using the Gen V Golf Architecture. We're currently on Gen VII.
Yes, for a vehicle that was still selling brand new, it's ancient.

hahahaha hell no. Although I wish she had. I am destined to own one someday when they are worth around 1000 bucks.
don't hate, I am looking forward to it

So long as they don't kill the Up! because the Up! is fun to say.

The comment makes sense using old golf architecture. Thanks

Actually the MKVI is just a spruced up MKV, the chassis/frame/components are all the same, just refreshed bumpers/headlights (exterior). But yes, Eos is still 'old' I suppose.
