Did you know the Uplander can't do this?
nope, the hood gets in the way and I bet you have to raise the hood just to change the wiper blades. And since its snowing/icing out currently my wipers will be frozen to the windshield tomorrow morning. Good job Chevy.

Our Jetta is the same way. Makes changing wipers a pain in the ass.

My wifes Jetta is the same way, to flip the wipers up you have to leave the wipers on and turn the car off when they are running so they stop on the windshield.

you know there's a service position? turn the car off and then immediately hit the wiper stalk. the wipers move up an inch or two. you can prop them up or change them.

Does running the defroster not work?

My GTI is like that. One of the wipers leads the other wiper. Find the leader, and you should be able to slide it up the windshield towards the roof with your hands, as it would when operating normally, and the other will follow. Once you've cleared the hood, presto-chango, flip the wipers up and off the windshield.
I spent far too long trying to turn the car on, turn the wipers on, and turn the car off while the wipers were up.

My 06 GTI is the same way, but has a service position/winter position. Turn key on (don't start) key off, push down on wiper stalk. Wipers will move to upright position and stay there until you turn the car on again. Remove key. I don't know if you have the same generation so it may different for you, but just check the owners manual.

My 07 2500hd has the same issue. Just turn the wipers on and let them move to an upward position then turn the car off, forcing them to stay in an up position. Takes some planning i know but its not the end of the world.

I didn't think of that. We have another 5 inches predicted for tonight so I'll give it a shot

Should be doable. Just set the speed to slow, and as soon as they start moving you should be able to kill the key all the way and they should stop in an upward position. Hopefully it works!
