Now, a friend who shall remain nameless has asked me, "What trucks/suvs can you get within the past couple years with a MT, 6-cylinder or greater and 4wd?"
So I've been looking (for this friend) and it's just the usual suspects from Jeep, Toyota and maybe Nissan.
Have I missed anything?
For this friend, of course.
Also:
Dear Ford,
That is all.
Love,

Trucks, I hear you type?
Here we go. It may well be manual, it's certainly an i6 and 4wd.
Confusingly, it may have three pedals and still not be a manual. Work that one out!

Hows about a 2012 Porsche cayenne with a 4.5LT v8 and a 6sp MT?? course you might find a unicorn serving coffee at the starbucks in Atlantis before you find one of these.. but hey it's an option!

I love them...there's a TRD Tundra in my apartment parking lot that has them and they are sick.

I forget when exactly the Toyota FJ Cruiser went out of production, but I think it was around 2-3 years ago.

Last year was the last model year.
This vehicle is actually a guilty pleasure of mine.

You could get a Jeep Liberty with a 6spd up until 2008.
Can confirm, I had one until about 6 months ago. It was fun to drive, for a slow SUV that handled and rode like crap. It was also unstoppable in the snow with decent tires. Prone to rust-related issues though, and general falling-apart-ness.
I'd buy a new one if they made it with a modern V6.

Niether did most buyers... Here's the only MT one on ebay, but it's a lowly 6 cylinder.

Too bad they won't do anything with the clutch, so you can get it with 370/800 or 385/850.

I gagged a little.
I found one but forgot to show you that they do exist! Granted I think it was in Kentucky for some reason...

Sounds like a new clutch and tune away from perfection. Whats the costs savings sticking with the manual I wonder...

Not enough to justify not getting a 3500 SRW with the new Aisin.

I use to have one of these with color matched rims...
In other words.. I'd drive that GTS. haha

yeah, they're nice. So many truck wheels look like absolute dog shit but these are perfect. I don;t care if the bead lock is fake. There are 3 colors, the graphite above, black on the TRD Pros and Bronze. I want the bronze, but would settle for graphite at the right price.

Hahaha. I think I just don't like the profile view with that color. 3/4 on the Cherokee works for me.
I also spent some time considering this color Wrangler:
Not a problem haha

This raises an interesting question, what new trucks (in the US) offer a manual. You'd limit it even more if you limit it to 4wd.
Off the top of my head: Wrangler, Tacoma, Frontier, Colorado/Canyon (4cyl only), Ram HD
Maybe a handful of crossovers? Juke? CR-V?

At least there's ton's of hard, shiny plastic that's easy to clean up when somebody pukes all over the place.

I thought very seriously about buying one of these instead doing the engine swap on my land cruiser. I couldn't justify the price though. I can do my engine swap and still have enough money to buy a well kept M-35 for much less than a new Ram. Plus I'm not wild about made in Mexico.

Canyon and Colorado can't be had in MT and 4WD. You get the 4cyl 4x2 only.
But that's exactly what I'm getting at.
Le sigh.

There's also the Suzuki Equator, which is really just a rebadged Nissan Frontier

New kid on the block, but you can only get it with the 1.4T if you want the manual, and no Trailhawk. But its an "SUV", AWD, and manual even though its missing the V6.

Well aware of this fella. Looks great in trailhawk guise at the autoshow.

I would totally go for a Trailhawk but I really want the 1.4T, which it doesn't have, nor can you get the Trailhawk with a manual even with the 2.4 4-banger.

Life is unfair, but I'll say that they're doing us a service by offering the MT 4x4. It comes nicely equipped like that, too. I'd be happy with it but want something a little bigger to toss some larger gear in the back.

In addition, the V6 Cayenne was available with a Manual from the beginning up until very recently, actually. I even want to say you could get the current version with a manual...

Just going to correct something here; So I've been looking (for this friend) and it's just the usual suspects from Jeep, Toyota and Nissan. No maybe about it, both the Frontier and the Xterra were and still are offered in manual.
