TE37's are just to expensive, so guess I'm a part of the RPF1 gang *shrugs*
![]() 02/23/2015 at 18:20 |

I actually prefer rpf1s...

Get Rota GRIDs instead. Fool everyone.

What's the term for someone who simply has no fucks to give about wheels?
![]() 02/23/2015 at 18:22 |

It wouldn't fool me though, and I'd want to burn my house own with myself in it for disgracing a Z with Rota's..also, 22.5 pounds per wheel isn't much better then my stock wheels :P

steelies are great!
![]() 02/23/2015 at 18:24 |

Yeah, because rp F1 's have no pedigree at all
![]() 02/23/2015 at 18:24 |

What lug pattern and wheel size?
![]() 02/23/2015 at 18:25 |

They look better for sure, TE37's have to be the correct color to look good on the Z, but TE's are lighter, and forged rather then cast. But at twice the price, not really worth it for the tiny weight difference between the 2.
![]() 02/23/2015 at 18:25 |

The terms are..start giving a fuck because light weight wheels = razeker bruh ;D
![]() 02/23/2015 at 18:25 |

A normal person
![]() 02/23/2015 at 18:26 |

That's the point of the meme, everyone who race's or goes to track days uses them for a reason..literally everyone..hence being basic, haha
![]() 02/23/2015 at 18:29 |

On my Z? Bolt patter is 5x114.3, and my current RPF1's are 18x9.5. Probably at some point (in the distant future) will look at moving up to 18x10.5's.
![]() 02/23/2015 at 18:30 |

Wait what? It's basic to want a nice looking, light, strong, affordable wheel with racing pedigree? It's basic to understand that every gram of unsprung rotational mass makes a difference, even on the street if you're driving something like a Miata?
I am such confuse.
![]() 02/23/2015 at 18:32 |

It's a joke, because they're so insanely popular, that isn't to say that they don't have every reason to be popular though, which they do, as you just listed.

In other words, most wheel weight variations have no effect on performance. Driving feel, yes.

I am vehemently opposed to Rotas with stickers of other brands. I would rather burn my car to the ground than run Rota's with BBS/Rays/Enkei/whatever stickers in hopes of making other people think I have nicer wheels than I actually do.
#savethewheels #fuckthefakes

I doubt you'd notice a difference unless you heavily tracked the car.

Damnit now I can't un-hear meatwad.

Better a basic bitch than a bottom bitch.

You're welcome!

I don't mind the wheels themselves, but screw the fakes.

Indeed they are, other Brian.

A Detroiter. Goes for anyone in Michigan though,
![]() 02/23/2015 at 19:54 |

Except they do, if you combine lighter wheels with other forms of weight reduction.
![]() 02/23/2015 at 19:56 |
|
Which is the goal with the Z, but not currently happening, you'd notice more of a difference in your wallet for sure though!
![]() 02/23/2015 at 21:57 |

Now way RPF1 are basic. They look dope and are super light and have tehnology.
![]() 02/23/2015 at 22:13 |
|
The joke is that they are basic for any car that is tracked or autox'd pretty much, because pretty much everyone uses them. For a good reason though, yes.
![]() 02/23/2015 at 22:40 |
|
Its not they they have a monopoly on the market. They're not the only light wheels. Folks just fall for peer pressure.
![]() 02/23/2015 at 23:26 |

They are one of the most proven though, and oonnee of the lightest for the price. Though I'm sure you could find something lighter for the money..maybe.. but probably not as light for the money and as proven. I like them anyway :P
![]() 02/24/2015 at 03:19 |

They were the lightest I could find for the price!
-A basic bitch.

Haha, me then ;)
![]() 02/24/2015 at 15:03 |

At that point you change another variable in the system. On a test between the same exact cars and tires, wheel weight made a negligible difference in lap times. Only the most skilled drivers could demonstrate a difference in the real world. I'm talking really really good drivers— certainly not me, or to hazard a guess.. most people on oppo.
That wheel weight affects steering feel is not disputed. There's no doubt about that.

One of my friends just got TE37's for her Benz, and said the weight (which confused me as to..how not much lighter they were then mine, even though they aren't as wide as mine) and I found a site that shows wheels weights of them on a actual scale and...comparing same sizes of RPF1's and TE37's..RPF1's are actually lighter... offsets aren't the same but that shouldn't effect the weight ..should it? O.o... can tell one thing for certain, RPF1's are pretty much all listed as weighing more then they actually do.
![]() 02/26/2015 at 05:26 |

Offsets would probably affect the weight but only very slightly. RPF1s seem like good value, especially if they're lighter than more expensive wheels.
A wheel I used to like (that was a bit pricey) was the RE30, not sure if they still sell those or not.
