What says the hivemind? I want a second car so I can work on the Miata on the weekends without worrying about going to work on Monday, and the Civic hatch seems like a good idea. The seller and I agreed that $4000 isn't the right price, he's just sick of kids thinking $1500 is a good offer. I'm thinking I'll start at $3200 and work from there.

The kid (he's in college) said this is the first he's heard of the odometer and I told him about it over the phone so it sounded genuine FWIW. I'd do a cluster swap from an EX so I could get a tach anyway.

It's possible that they told them the wrong miles when they registered it. Looks pretty clean.

It's a Honda Civic. What could go wrong?

One good sign I see is that so much maintance was done at good reputable Honda dealers... that makes it a safer buy IMO

Its also a Civic where parts are a dime a dozen if needs be. Looks clean and the price is low enough so i say NP

...you know, that's true. the last "known good" mileage was 81,477 on 7/31/2010, then we get the one outlier reading of 120,185 on 2/28/2011. so if that second reading is right, it had to go 182.6 miles/day. that's a fucking lot. then again, the alternative is that the mileage is correct and it's picked up 6k in 4.5 years, which seems wildly unlikely. so i don't know.
