I would love to go for a ride with Alvin. This is maybe #2 on my list after going into space of cool stuff a person could do.

It is very cool, my massive irrational fear of the sea would prevent me from going in it though. You couldn't get me on a cruise ship nevermind a submersible.

It would be cool, but I have such great phobia about drowning that I could never do it.

You and I have the same list haha.
Fly in space, explore the deep, also fly in a high performance jet.

Didn't ALVIN find the Titanic?
I share this goal.

Pretty much the same. I have a few more. I would love to take part in something like the Paris-Peking Rally. I would like to watch a rocket launch from Baikonur. I've been lucky enough to go to most of the races I've wanted to see. My wife and I were looking at Monza prices this evening. Still lots of places I want to visit.

I remember hearing that Alvin was slated for retirement soon. I'm too lazy to Google it though.
Source: I live five miles from the port where it's based out of.

Yeah. I soaked up all that stuff when i was a kid. Came out some time later that the Titanic expedition was a cover for the funding for the crew to find the USS Thresher and asses its state.

I don't think so. Just went through a big retrofit.

HOLY SHIT. How did I not know about this?!
I was obsessed with the Titanic and the later discovery when I was growing up in the 90s. Wow. Crazy.

I have a Woods Hole shirt somewhere, yeah bring a book, I think decompression on the way up is a wait. I hope I live long enough to get a flight into orbit, who knows.

It was retired in 1998 and returned to service in 2002.

I was ages 4-8 during that period so that's not what I was thinking about because I would have been unaware of it.

Never heard of that rally, but after doing some research, it looks very intense/fun. Ive never seen a launch, which makes me sad, especially a Shuttle launch. However, Ill be living close to KSC soon, so Ill be sure to attend as many as I can. My wife and I are big travelers as well.

You can buy cigarettes if you were born in 1997.
