A symbol of truly not giving a f@*% and driving your Porsche to the grocer after an ice storm anyway.

Saw this as I climbed out of my almost 240k mile Nissan 4x4. The roads in Nashville aren't too bad anymore, but the sidestreets and parking lots are still frozen with 2-3" of ice that isn't melting because the temperature has not gone over 30 degrees F since last week.

Nonetheless dude does not give any fucks he drives his 911 anyway.

I am actually amazed at the number of cool cars that I have seen out in the brutal cold. Not just high-end "fragile" sports cars, but cars too old to have ABS, traction control, air bags, or productive heaters.

i'm fortunate enough to have a 911 as well. and i use it in the winter, which means snow in my part of the country.

but i'm going to go out on a limb here and say that these are probably not winter tires. just from the section width and height.

if youre gonna do it. do it right and get some snows on there.

Pfft, I saw a Porsche Boxster being driven around yesterday in Amherst, NY.

Couple of rich Chinese students; most likely going to UB. Oh, and the best part? They had the windows rolled down because both the driver and passenger were busy smoking.

I couldn't fucking believe what I was seeing.

I'm always more surprised about the people who change their plans based on weather.

If I want to go do something with my RWD car I will, snowpocalypse or not (granted Michigan doesnt really get ice storms).

This is far too common for me. Gave me great pleasure when I noted an S5 on summers with the front passenger side bumper/lights/hood all smashed in with chunks of ice from a snowbank because a large group of entitled pricks drive horribly, use two spots and rev engines at 3am.

911's are built to be driven year-round, so good for him! Hard to tell, but looks like a model with the wider hips, so it may be a Carrera 4 or 4S.

I used to work as a test engineer testing winter tires in Finnish Lapland. The company also did tire service for Porsche's winter driving camp. I helped company's tire guys to move some of the Porsche's in side company's yard. With summer tires (as they had those when they were delivered) they barely moved on the snow.

Porsche had brought around 80 Porsches and the most were 911s. I guess most of the cars were ordered Porsches that had been undelivered to the buyers due various reasons. Some had pretty weird color combinations and weird options.

The winter camp cars used pretty wild looking winter tires. Some had 345 rear tires full of 4 mm studs but some had super narrow winter rally tires. Porsche guys didn't much care about Finnish legislation about studded tires and took the cars on the road to their ice track which was 10 km away. I'm pretty sure that the 911s were pretty fun on the ice track.

Holy crap, i'm glad that the worst drivers I have had to deal with are Indian and Pakistani middle aged males in their used Accords/Pilots/Odysseys who don't know how to operate a motor vehicle in icy conditions.

There have been two GTRs, an e63 amg, RS5, S5, TTRS, 911, DB9, that cop imposter Maseratti, two R8s, oddly tuned C6, spankin' new C7 and maybe one other thing I forgot.

I swear a total of 5 different people drive all of these and they piss me off. My bedroom is right over where they park and during the summer they rev engines and bring in sport bikes. I wanted to go get my VS1400 and let them know what a real bike sounded like (hint: loud and rumbly).

Then there are the various econo-asses.

I don't often but I have. I was going to drive to QC city (about 5 hours on a good day) one day with my gf, but there was a huge freezing rain storm that engulfed most of the highway. Better bored than dead.
